Are the scrub paints drawstring or elastic waist? Is the actual color wine? I was looking up Dickies brand and the wine was not a bad color. Just wondering.

Thanks for the info.:nurse:

They are drawstring. I thought the color was pretty nice! I don't know the "official color" or anything like that, but it just looked that way to me.

Hello All! Hope everyone is doing fine. Today, I finished the BLS training and got my card and my background/drug screen cleared. So I am glad that is out of the way. It feels so good to chip away at all of the requirements in the packet! We're getting closer and closer! I am starting to get nervous:sofahider

Hard to believe we are only30 days away. Life is about to change big time for the next two years!

Has anyone gotten their books yet? I know the bookstore does not have them yet. I was wondering how much is the book bundle? I saw on a post from last year that they were $700+, I priced them online and they were $200+ cheaper.

I have purchased all the books (plus study guides) knowing full well that it'll be cheaper on amazon - and I don't mind some used books. I am actually terrified to look at my credit card statement until later this month when I get paid....lol...Regardless, I still have paid a lot - I would estimate that I paid around $600 for everything....

They are MUCH cheaper going through Amazon or B&N. I ordered all the books NOT included in the bundle as I want the ebooks. According to the sheet, you only get the ebooks if you order the bundle. The bookstore cost is out of control. I spoke with a women in the LMC bookstore and she stated they will have them in the week of the 25th most likely. She also stated they are probably going to be around $700-900. WOW! They sure make money off the students. I have an extra Fundamentals and Evolve as I ordered those back in February before knowing about the bundle. Oh well... NBB2013, your smart. Looks like you paid ALOT less.

We need to get more of those starting with us to chime in on this blog. Seems like only 3 or 4 of us.

I'm interested in purchasing the books as a bundle as well. The only reason I'm interested in purchasing the eBooks is because I figure, I can just open the eBooks on my laptop or iPad instead of carrying a whole bunch of textbooks in my backpack. Does anyone know how the eBooks really work? Would I only be able to view it on only one computer or any computer?

i agree that we need more people! it's great being able to chat with all of you.

as for the books, i had an e-book accompany my A&P textbook, which at first i used just for the sake of using it, but i soon found i didn't prefer it...which is why i haven't hesitated to buy the books online. plus, it's cool being able to browse them. im just waiting on the drug and psych books at this point. i even bought an nclex study guide online for cheap.

28 more days!

I am with you on this one. It is my understanding (and past experience) you can access them from any computer/iPad. From what I gathered from talking with one of the ladies in the bookstore, the nice thing about the ebooks IS that we can access them from ANYWHERE, anytime. Not just one computer. I had used a few ebooks in grad school and LOVE them. I accessed via my laptop (laptops were the big thing back in the early 90's) Makes it nice to be able to study anywhere, and like you said, without lugging all those books around. :yeah:

if the ebook is like my a&p book was, you can access it from anywhere, since you log in on a given website with a user id and password that you set up for your registered book

I bought a great book for NCLEX RN Review- Title is: NCLEX RN Review Made Incredibly Easy- Only 30.40 through Barnes and Noble.

I also have an App for my iPad which is great. NCLEX Review- NCLEX Lite- (free) and it is on my iphone as well.

Perhaps at the meet and greet we can let others know about this site. I also saw some other LMC RN classes had a Facebook page. I went ahead and created one- Los Medanos RN Class of 2013! We will see if anyone is interested. If not, I will delete it.
