What do you want to know bout this program? I'm currently last semester student at Lattc

Was it easy to get in? Is it true, once you have all your pre reqs done and pass the tease you are in?

How long did you have to wait to get in?

Where are you doing your clinicals

How much is tuition?

How are the teachers... and if you could go back would go to LATTC?

Was it easy to get in? Is it true, once you have all your pre reqs done and pass the tease you are in?----> YES.

How long did you have to wait to get in? ----> 1 semester

Where are you doing your clinicals ---> CALIFORNIA MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL, OLYMPIA HOSP, EXODUS-USC, WHITE MEMORIAL HOSP...

How much is tuition?-->> I GOT FEE WAIVER, SO IDK, ABOUT 500$ PER SEMESTER

How are the teachers... and if you could go back would go to LATTC? ---> YES, I WOULD! THEY ARE HARD, BUT THEY WANT THEIR STUDENTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL. 1st SEMESTER STUDENTS GET KICKED OUT A LOT FOR VARIOUS REASONS.

EVERYTHING IS NEW @ LATTC NURSING DEPARTMENT (BUILDING, CLASSROOM, SIMULATION LAB, COMPUTER LAB, TEACHERS)

SINCE THEY CHANGED MOST OF THE PREVIOUS STAFFS (PROFESSORS, NURSING DIRECTOR ...) THE NLCEX PASSING RATE IS KINDA HIGH NOW. (http://www.rn.ca.gov/schools/passrates.shtml)

NURSING STUDENTS @ LATTC USUALLY TRANSFERRED TO CSU (CSUF, CSUDH, CSULA, WESTERN UNIVERSITY...) AFTER GRADUATING TO COMPLETE RN-BSN DEGREE

@buspar I have some questions too..

there is a high rate of drops for first semester students? Is it mostly due to failing grades? Are the teachers strict? I'm starting in the fall and I'm not sure what to expect.

How's your social life? Lol. I know a lot of people say there is no social life during nursing school so I'd like to hear your opinion about it.

Also, do you feel confident that LATTC has taught you what you need to know in order to pass the NCLEX and become a successful nurse?

And why do you think no one knows about this school?

It is equivalent as any other jc correct?

Also the pre reqs fact sheet is different than I got emailed from the school- do you need to take speech, and also when you met with councilors was it pretty easy to verify classes that transferred?

AFTER 1ST 8 WKS, SOME PPL CANNOT PASS WITH 75%--> OUT--> CANNOT COME BACK, AND IF THEY TRY TO APPLY AGAIN TO ANOTHER NURSING SCHOOL (9 SCHOOLS OF L.A. DISTRICT), CHANCE TO GET ACCEPTED IS RARE !

Are the teachers strict? YES, SPECIALLY 3RD SEMESTER (HARDEST ONE)

I'm starting in the fall and I'm not sure what to expect. TRY YOUR BEST TO SURVIVE THE 1ST EIGHT WEEKS. GROUP STUDY. ASK THE SECOND, THIRD, OR LAST STUDENTS WHAT TO EXPECT IN CAMPUS. THEY ARE WILLING TO HELP NEW STUDENTS.

****1ST 8 WKS IS CRUEL ! MAKE AN APPT. TO TALK TO THE PROFESSORS RIGHT AWAY IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT THE FIRST TEST 75%. SHOW THEM YOU REALLY STUDY AND NURSING IS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO.

TO ME, PROFESSORS WILL HELP US OUT, BUT CANNOT ... STUDY FOR US. PASSING NCLEX IS ALL ABOUT YOUR WORKS.

What were the pre reqs?

Biology 20 (Anatomy/Physiology)….8 units
Microbiology 1or 20…………….….4/.5 units
English 101…………………………3 units
Psychology 1 ……………………… 3 units
Psychology 41………………………3 units

1/ COMPLETE THESE FIRST, GO TO counseling office TO ASK FOR VERIFYING THE PRE REGS FOR NURSING APPLICATION.

2/ THEN GO TO THE nursing office, FILL OUT THE APPLICATION.

- If student took TEA V and passed with 62% --> SEND THE SCORE TO LATTC NURSING---> YOUR NAME WILL BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST (1-2 SEMESTERS WAITING)

- If student hasnt taken TEA V, will be notified when and where to take it.

3/ TAKE THE OTHER CLASSES WHILE WAITING TO COMPLETE YOUR AA NURSING DEGREE OR TO TRANSFER TO CAL STATE UNIVERSITY OR UC. (HISTORY, POLITICAL SCIENCE, PHILOSOPHY, ART, MUSIC, PE. ECT)
