Los Angeles nurses!!

Published

Hi all! I'm new to the allnurses forum, and decided that this would be the best place for some of my questions to be answered. Specifically, for the nurses who work at UCLA Medical Center, or the LA area in general.

I'm thinking about moving to Los Angeles within the next year or so. I am a new grad, and plan to fulfill my first year working in inpatient med-surg/oncology before looking for another position in the same field.

I was wondering how you all liked UCLA Medical Center in general. I know it is a state law that nurses ratio be no more than 4:1, but is this strictly enforced? How long/difficult was the hiring process? And finally, is there some kind of orientation for nurses who are new to the facility?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
