Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

Ohh good even better then! I'm also wondering if anyone else's letter said "pending" acceptance?? Or was it just mine?

Everyone has a conditional admittance because the school needs the student to complete the health requirements/background checks.

For those of you accepted and attending this Friday, will you be purchasing your uniforms and accessories/instruments? I know it says it's optional for these (not uniforms) but I'm wondering if they're less expensive somewhere else?

I'm going through Amazon for some and uniform will likely be purchased on Friday.

I am pretty excited to meet those of you who will be attending this Friday. Feels like we've had a head start in getting to know one another lol.

As far as instruments they are more expensive from the uniform store... all u really need is a stethoscope a manual BP cuff a pen light, Scissors are handy but not needed also a clipboard is helpful but it's not for everyone ... if u guys have any questions please feel free to ask

Prayering for the best and hoping people decline their seats... but if I don't get in this time and apply for spring 2018, do you think I'd have a chance. I'm starting to lose hope after being rejected from 3 schools already. God is just not on my side rn

I didn't even get a letter of rejections from county nor a waitlist one. She told me I still have a 50/50 chance rn and it's on the positive side, but I don't know if she just said that just cause or if it's true

Stay positive the fight is not over yet and the fact that you called and she knows your name is very good. I am sure they are very busy and have alot going on so that slows down things a bit... just keep calling do not give up ... and it is completely normal to have to apply many times inorder to get in so do not feel like younger the only one. I have a friend and has been applying for 3 years and she just got in. So if it is ur dream keep trying and don't give up.

This was my third semester too and I finally got in. Don't give up!! If you don't get in reapply. Try to apply everywhere you can! That's what I was planning to do in case I didn't get in for the fall. It's not over yet. Don't give up!!!!

Is there a certain kind of stethoscope that's better than others? Ive heard Littman is supposed to be a good brand but I'm unsure as to what style. I know manual BP cuffs come in different sizes. Does the hospital not have them available?
