Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?
I just talked to the person in charge, she told me that they have already selected the first 50 and the cutoff was 77 points. She says that as responses are coming in (ACCEPT/DECLINE), she might be able to accept a few more. BUT, that won't happen until next week! Now, the thing that I was glad she was able to do for me was to go over my application. The first thing she said was, I have you at 66 points! I was like, WHAT? She goes, did you come up with something else? I said, YES, I came up with 76! She goes, okay, let's go over my count. She then goes over every single class and she had me down as two of my Science classes being "C"s. I go no, that is not it, I have an average of B's in all my Science classes. She goes, okay, let me go through your transcripts one more time. So, she does and sees that yes, I have an average B in all my Science classes. Then, she was not giving me the extra point for my experience in the health field. So, I pointed that out and she added that one point to her count. Finally, we have the same count. To close our conversation, she said to call her back next Monday afternoon to find out what the status on my application will be. One last thing, she did say that she needed to fix the point count in the system to make it official so that'll be taken care by Monday as well. I called at exactly 9:50 a.m. just so you know at what time of the day she was able to give me a few minutes of her time. Good luck to us all.
Dude, she hasn't even called me re: my application yet :/ should i call again?
How did you ask her?Sorry im overthinking this.
I told the person who answered that I was calling to find out if I had made it into the program. She said okay, and transferred me to the person in charge. When she came to the line, she told me: SO, ARE YOU CALLING TO FIND OUT THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION? I said, yes! Then she went from there, I didn't even have to ask her anything.

I applied to PCC, I should hear back soon. I did CNA last year just to get into their LVN program because if you complete LVN at PCC you get a guaranteed spot in their RN program. Same for CNA, if you complete CNA at PCC you get a guaranteed spot in the LVN. Last year I didn't get in because my CNA course wasn't completed in time, I wish I knew PCC offered it back then, I would've taken it at PCC. I will be notified before the end of this month. Good luck to everyone on this journey.
