Los Angeles County School of Nursing Fall 2017

Published

Hey, is there anyone who applied for Fall 2017 admission to LA County? Have you guys heard any news? has anyone called you? What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure if you were asking me or not but yes, I did apply for this fall. They will notify us by email. I haven't received anything from them yet. I heard back this week from Pierce and Glendale and I did not get in. Someone on here said they called and were told they would let us know the end of May. I'm hoping I get in because valley also does lottery and I haven't had much luck with that. I think i saw your name on county's fall 2016 board. Did you get accepted somewhere else? Or are you reapplying for county again?

The threads are confusing.. but yeah, I was asking if anyone has gotten a letter from LA County for fall 2017 because I haven't receive any mail yet. I thought according to the website, we should have received a letter by May 15 and now it's already May 18. I applied LAVC in 2016 but no luck, so for fall 2017 I only apply for County. But I am on the waitlist at LA Trade Tech RN program, it's a year of waitlist and I'll be in the program by Fall 2018 (this is my back up plan if I don't get in this year, at least I know that I'll be in the program in 2018).

Do you buy that it's a lottery system though? I'm kinda sceptical.

Yes. According to the website we should've been notified already. I read a post on here that they were told we would know sometime around the end of May. Ok. Cool. I didn't know schools had a wait list anymore. That's great that you have a back up school. This school is far for me and it's actually my first choice because I live very close to one of the clinical sites so it won't feel too bad driving to school 2x a week. Maybe you can give them a call tomorrow and see what they tell you. Good luck!

I'm not sure what to think anymore. I just want to start school already!!

Good morning! I graduated as a VN yesterday! Yippee! Now to study for my NCLEX-PN. We are submitting paperwork and payment to the board next week, then to wait a couple of weeks to get out ATT letter. I will try to test ASAP so that I can move on to the next step in my career: RN. I heard Uworld is a good program to prepare for NCLEX. Have you guys heard of anything else?

I have a C in humanities because I was going through a lot that semester. I hope that doesn't affect my points too bad. :/

If I don't get in at county or pasadena or valley I'd be super sad.

THANK YOU! I'll keep you posted ;)

The questionnaire said something like if you could not become a nurse, what career would you choose? What did you guys put?

"I have over twenty years of experience in the customer service field. I love being able to help people. If being an R.N. was not an option, my career would be related to customer service." That's a direct quote from the attachment I included with my questionnaire. What about you? What did you respond?

Can't really remember something like id become a rad tech or paramedic or go all the way to become a doctor... You just need 90 credits to get into some very good medical schools.

Lol

Talked to my professor.... said the fact that they called is a good sign... And congrats :)
