Los Angeles County College of Nursing - FALL 2020

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for people who are applying Jan. 15 - Feb. 15 2020

Im trying to apply even though i only have 78 points without the interview points. ? hehe

But If I don't get an invite in MAY, I'll try to retake some GE's and bump my score up to 80.

However, I'm still going to try and turn in my application on Jan. 15

Hi where did you receive notice that the college will not be conducting interviews? I checked the portal, nothing.

the website says that due to COVID-19 pandemic, they will not be conducting interviews for this group of applicants

Found it thanks! Well if the LVN to RN track is starting next year I assume generic will have the same outcome. However, selections may be sent by the original date May 15 or 14th

I’m glad I applied to several schools. Hi

I’m glad I applied to several schools. Hi

Someone posted earlier that the LVN program is pushed back bc the current cohort won’t be able to finish in time due to COVID-19 and they don’t have enough resources to have the classes run concurrently during the Summer. I’m not sure if that will be the case for the generic RN program but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that if we get accepted , we could still in the fall.

I emailed the following and will post the response when I get it:

"...I submitted an application for your Fall 2020 program. I see the school has cancelled the interview section of the application.

Is it possible to get an idea of when applicants should expect an acceptance letter?

If one is not accepted will a rejection letter be sent out during the same period?

Thank you in advanced for your help...."

Great thank you

They just said please refer to our website and linked the application procedure.

I’m a student in the school. Just keep in mind that they are still making us go to the med center for clinical and do tests in person at school in the middle of this crisis. If not, we are forced to be a semester behind.

Are they taking any precautions to protect students?

We are told to take “basic med/surg patients.” So we are not taking care of confirmed COVID patients. Well, a basic med/surg patient can also be asymptomatic. There are some COVID patients on the wards we are doing clinical at.
Protection from the school? 1 surgical mask!

It's May! Letters should be going out this month, let us know if you guys get your letters! Good luck everyone!

Hey All! Does anyone know what version of TEAS they require? I took the TEAS back in 2016 and I'm wondering if thats still good. I looked through the website and in the student handbook and can't find anything.

I hope everyone is staying safe and I'm crossing my fingers for everyone here to get in! Good luck to the current students too! It's a crazy time to be learning.
