I'm trying to learn names of bacterium and spirochets. I find it helps me to know what each word means. For example: Treponema pallidum. I looked it up and found that Trepo means "to turn" and nema means "to thread". So this helps me visualize Treponema as a 'twisted thread'.
ok so - I can find the meanings of only a few words that I need to know the definitions of in different places on the internet. But there are several I cannot find just what the word means. Like Neisseria gonorrhea. I just want to know what Neisseria means, but when I type it into the search it pulls up Neisseria gonorrhea. Not what i want. I just want to know what exactly Neisseria means.
Does anyone know of a website that breaks it down like this?? Or any other way I can find this info??? THANKS!
