Looking for Non-US RN (BSN or higher) to Correspond with

Published

My name is Lila Roberts. I would like to find a nurse, English-speaking or Spanish-speaking, with whom to correspond throughout the duration of this semester, and possibly thereafter. It is a requirement that this nurse is living and practicing outside of the United States or US territory, and is educated at the BSN level or higher.

I am enrolled in a nurse practitioner program in Chicago, Illinois. This correspondence is primarily for this course. In addition to my BSN in Nursing, I also hold a BA in Russian studies with a minor in Spanish. I spent one summer perfecting my Spanish in Guadalajara. I love that city!

I love to travel. I am very interested in visiting both Canada and New Zealand!! When I was 12 years old, I spent 1 week in Canada, and just loved it. I have not set foot on Canadian soil since:crying2:

I would like to inform my correspondence partner about nursing issues and good things happening in the US. Perhaps we could even meet the summer of 2011!

I am looking forward to hearing from anyone who may be interested.

Lila Roberts, RN, BSN, EMT-IV

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

am an RN in Nigeria. male 26..looking to make friends....luv to be a friend

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your response.

I am in the Master of Nursing program at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois in the United States. I am taking a class called "Professional Issues", for which we have to have a "Global Partner." The idea is to discuss on the Webb nursing issues, as well as good things happening , in both countries. Would you be interested?

I have a friend in the program from Nigeria whose name is "Fumi." Of course, that is short for a much longer, difficult to pronounce, name. We also have students from India, Pakistan, Poland, Mexico, and Tanzania--a diverse group.

Please tell me more about yourself, where you work, what your nursing specialty is, and what your plans for the future are.

If you are interested in corresponding with me about nursing issues, as well as good things happening in nursing, in our countries, please reply to me through Allnurses.com. I will set up a special email account that we can use for our correspondence, and provide that info to you.

Hi, Tony!

Thanks for your response. You sound interesting.

When I was a teen, I was a student at The National Academy of Ballet in New York.

I still enjoy teaching dance when there is time.

What hospital does your sister work at? Does she like New York? Anyway, I am glad that she introduced you to nursing!

I am heavily involved in school for the next few days; I'll get back to you at the end of the week.

Take care

Lila

hi,

Hi, Tony!

I have been very busy working and doing homework lately. I am wondering what you are doing.

Please email me and tell me more about yourself, the hospital where you work, your future career aspirations, etc.

By the way, I loved the one political science that I took while I was pursuing my "Russian studies" degree(BA).

My email address is [email protected]. Please email me there. Thanks!

Hi,sure you are doin gud.....thinking of specializing in anaesthetic nursing...wat do you think?

Hi Tony,

That's a very interesting choice, and one that pays quite well in the US.

Of all of the choices in the US that draw the attention of male nurses concerning Master's programs in Nursing, the "Nurse Anesthetist" program is about the most popular.

In my class we are talking a lot about international education. Where did you receive your nursing degree? And how long have you been a nurse? How many students were in your class?

Where do you wish to practice when you finish? Is there any way you can blend being a psychiatric nurse with a career as a nurse anesthetist ? That might be very rewarding?

Thanks for responding. Please write soon.

Lila :)

Hi Tony,

Nurse Anesthetist is a very interesting choice, and one that pays quite well in the US. Are you hoping to take the skills you are learning to the US some day?

Hope I can be of some assistance to you in the future - if you can help me with info about nursing in Nigeria, I'm going to send a nice present from the US to you at the end of the term. Please help me with answers to the few questions I send to you so we can both achieve something out of this correspondence.
