Looking for Job Shadow opportunity in IL

Hello,

I am a pre-nursing student at the University of Illinois in Champaign. I am looking for a chance to job shadow a registered nurse, NP, etc. Also I am open to a variety of healthcare organizations such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and so on. I am also willing to drive to different locations whether it is in Chicago, Champaign, Springfield, etc. Even if it is only for one day I would be very happy to do it. I would like to gain some real-world experience and have a personal look at a nurses day.

Any tips on how to go about finding one??

Would any of the nurses in this forum be able to have a job shadower?

You know to save yourself some time, i would go to the nursing department at your school tell the department head what you would like to do. See if they can allow you to shadow with the clinical rotations for a day or possibly one of the instructors works at a facility there a couple days a month and wouldnt mind if a prospective student shadowed her for a day.

A lot of instructors work per-diem in facilities they teach clinicals in to keep up on their policies and skills. Good luck
