Looking for a job in dallas area

Published

I just recently moved back to the dallas area and I am looking for a job as an LVN.... I would love to be in the hospital setting (if anyone can tell me which ones are LVN friendly) but any leads would be a great help..... I thank you for your help in advance

Virtually all of the major hospitals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area have stopped hiring LVNs altogether. If you have experience, Huguley might hire you on their ortho or med/surg floor. Weatherford Regional still hires LVNs. But as far as general hospitals are concerned, these are the only two that I can think of that are still LVN-friendly.

Due to the sluggish economy, there is now an oversupply of too many nurses in the D/FW area. Hospitals that used to hire LVNs a few years ago have stopped doing so because they can now hire a new RN with a BSN for almost the same pay rate. The HCA hospitals (Medical City Dallas, Denton Regional, Medical Center of Arlington, etc.) used to be very welcoming to LVNs, but have stopped hiring them.

Your chances would be better at one of the LTAC hospitals such as Kindred, Lifecare, Vibra, Ethicus, Regency, etc. Also, many of the rehab hospitals still use LVNs. Reliant, Healthsouth, and Global Rehab Hospital are still LVN-friendly.
