Hello, all....I posted this message on the specialty board for rehab, but I see this is a much busier place so I thought I could get faster feedback here :)
I may have the opportunity shortly to take a job in an acute rehab unit of a nearby hospital. I just graduated in May so have no experience and frankly, know very little about rehab nursing. I'm waffling about a few different units that may be options for me very soon, and would really like to make an informed choice.
Can someone who works in hospital rehab give me some idea of what I might be getting myself into? I'm a person who likes to take her time with patients, go the extra step with TLC and care instead of flying in and out of rooms if given the choice, so I think it might be a better fit than med-surg....what do you all say?
Any wisdom to share?
