I am a APN in a subacute/LTC and have a administrator that thinks he is a expert in all aspects of clinical care despite being a non medical person.
I have been advocating for a resident who I feel has not gotten appropriate care for a undiagnosed medical problem. I have brought to them for months my concerns. Because of his being on Medicaid and it's a pain issue no one has been willing to see him. He was placed on long term rather than subacute. He has been labeled by staff because he doesn't look like he is "suffering".
The administrator is totally ticked off and annoyed at my last correspondence I sent.
The staff hate him as he has a dictatorship approach. Including deciding who can be sent to the hospital and who cannot.
Any words of wisdom??
