how long takes to get ATT from MBN?

Published

Hi everyone.

I'm a foreign RN, who just completed all the steps in order to become an RN here in MD. I did my CES report through CGFNS. In fact I received an Email from them saying that my CES report was successfully evaluated and it was sent to MBN.

Also I submitted the following

- MBN Application for NCLEX- Criminal History Record

- Declaration of Primary State of Residence

Also I already passed the ILA-OPI evaluation. It has been a month since MBN received all my complete documentation. Unfortunately I didn't receive any letter or Email from them. I sent an Email to them asking for my situation but they didn't answer it. And they never responded the phone calls. Somebody knows how long it will take or if there is a step that I didn't complete. I read in other forums that I have to complete my registration for Nclex (Pearson Vue registration), in order to receive a ATT from MBN. Is this correct? or I should wait for any response from them? Please somebody help me this anguish is killing me:nailbiting:

HI.. as per mu opinion nursing board will take a long time to respond, check your cgfns again whether you finished all the steps and also try calling to MD in office hours exactly. have you submitted all the requirements to nursing board..?? have you checked whether your application reached to the correct address. just check every step again

The BoN does not issue the ATT to student, usually once an applicant is deemed to meet the criteria the BoN alerts Pearson Vue who then emails the candidate the ATT. The caveat being the candidate MUST have registered with Pearson Vue and paid the $200 NCLEX examination fee.

If you registered and paid Pearson Vue online check your email & spam folders. If you registered via phone (for example physically taking the test outside the US) check with Pearson Vue.

If you have not registered and are certain that your application is complete, including valid SSN then register and pay Pearson Vue.

US BoN are notoriously difficult to get through this time of year as hundreds of new grad nurses graduate in May and submit their applications en masse to the BoN for processing.

Thank you deepu245 for responding my question. I checked everything, and all is correct.but I guess they are very busy. I've been calling them, but they do not answer the phone and the voice-mail is full. I will keep calling them.

Thank you JustBeachyNurse for your help.

Probably, I dint explain myself properly. what I'm trying to know is that after you completed all the requirements established by MBN, will they send me any confirmation letter?. How long it will take? (As I said it's been a month since they got all my documentation). because CGFNS sent me a Email saying that my nursing studies in my country are comparable to a BSN in the USA, but I didn't get any response from the MBN. So how can I be sure if this is correct. What happens if the MBN says that are not eligible to take NCLEX-RN exam? this is very confusing!!!!!!!!!

See if you have a pending file on the MD BoN website. Many states list candidates as pending once files are listed in the system. I do not know for certain whether MD BoN does this though...

You could try registering with Pearson Vue online & paying the fee. You have up to 6 months to be issued an ATT and take the exam from date of registration.

I'm curious to know if MD lists pending apps as well as time to ATT. Matriculation was Thursday before Memorial Day so I know we'll have a delay. Feeling eager because my new grad permit in DE (which my job offer is dependent on) requires I have an NCLEX date before I can even apply for it.

I have some answers. In MD, our school had graduation right before Memorial Day weekend. Many students got ATTs this morning. They do not appear on the BON's website yet, not even as pending. I hope that helps for anyone searching the same info I was looking for!

This is relevant to US educated/MD educated nurses. The posters above are internationally educated and have a more complex assessment process that can take 3-6 months. (Hence why this thread is in nurse registration in world nursing. ;) )

Thank you again JustBeachyNurse

I'm still waiting for any news, I think they just are very busy, this situation is very stressful, I can't concentrate for my Nclex preparation, anyway I have to keep going in this process. But I think if I do not have any news this week, next week I will go to MBN in person to ask about it, thank you again!!!!

Did you receive your letter of approval from MBN? I would like to know how long does it take to get a letter of approval from MBN after submitting all the required documents.

thanks

Yes I did receive letter. It took a month and 1 week. I think it was because they were so busy with the new graduated nurses. Now I'm preparing for nclex RN, I'm going to take it on next November .
