how long did it take you to finish the saunders book?

Only read the book if you are struggling in any areas. I would just concentrate on answering questions and making sure you understand what the question is asking and reading the rationales

well at least in my own experience....brought my saunders course book yet did not even read anypart of it....i only have 3 weeks to study for my nclex, because I was not granted 2 leave work....so what i did was to answer practice questions 200-300 questions per day....squezing the entire review which would normally takes months to prepare is not very easy...i gues with a help God and loots n lots of luck i passed...God is GOod, all the time....=)

What I recommend is to take the short tests at the end of each chapter-- if you score 75%, (you'll have to calculate your grade) move on. Study any chapters you make less than 75% on-- then if you have more time, review the other chapters starting with next lowest score.

I have had my at-risk students use this method (in-addition to taking an NCLEX-prep course) and I have seen much success. Students report it makes all the difference.

I'm fortunate to have the luxury of time to study for the NCLEX. I have a very poor foundation from Nursing school. Is it okay if I try as much as possible to finish the entire book? Or am I just wasting my time unnecessarily?

Beinndg foreign trained lyk it appears you are, it is important to go thru' the book before u start doin the questions. I am foreign trained and I found it important. It took me one and a half months to finish the book.

how long did it take people to finish the saunders book? i dont know when i will take my exam yet because my papers are still at CES CGFNS. im hoping maybe june? if i get the saunders book now, will i still have time to go over it? reading kaplan course book and basics book right now and almost done with them? please please help...

I still have two months before I qualify to take the NCLEX-PN but I'm reviewing Saunders right now. I'm focusing on my weak points. Closer it gets to taking NCLEX, though - a week before - I plan to hit all areas hard.

I've also heard from other graduate nurses that you should learn how to eliminate properly. Do you raise the HOB to semi-fowler's or take the vitals first? Yes, that is an easy one to guess, but it's about "priority, conservative treatment as first options."

Anyway, good luck - Saunders has helped me A LOT in my program. Look at what you have to review and make a plan to go by it for studying. If you plan it and stick to it you'll do fine.

i am almost done with the kaplan course book and the kaplan basics book but i feel like i need to read more plus i would like to practice the questions on the saunders book although i have the saunders cd downloaded on my computer...
