at long last, self respect...

Well, finally, I am not putting a price on the last commodity I have. When it all comes down, of course, we are more than the price someone pays for our efforts. God is the only measure of that. But in the world we live in, at 12 dollar an hour, or whatever, by gosh, by golly, we have our dignity, don't we? by age old age, or middle, wouldnt you think, folks would quit slapping your hands? (literally, slapping our hands)

So, girls and guys, the time has come. Stand. Be brave, and say, I will give all I can, but not my self respect.

This is no offense to you at all-but what are you venting about? Did something happen at work that made you angry?

Sorry, just needed to vent....and allnurses is the only place to do that...

don't want to burden the people around me, so you all get it.

So, disregard!:wink2:

Sorry, wanted to edit, but had to post again.

I guess I can be honest since you all don't know me. I am so depressed, and just have been having a rough time with that. I could cry at work, and sometimes do. Usually pretty cheerful, but for a few months have been so lost feeling.

So, I must apologize for my rants and vents. A lot of people in my life depend on me, and I really need to pull it together. I find your posts encouraging...so come here looking for that.

(((chadash)))...

to me it doesn't matter what happened to you.

your message is loud and clear.

that, no matter how poorly others may try to treat us, our self respect will draw the line...

no matter what it costs.

and that is priceless.

hugs to you, honey.

I don't want to disregard your rant; I want to hear where it came from. Of course, we all want, deserve and require respect, I am just interested in knowing what happened that resonated so painfully clear in your post. It sounded like you are really hurting, and the fact that you posted at all means to me that maybe there is something you want to share. And, since you find our posts as encouraging, allow us to try and encourage you. Be well, chadash! I hope things get better.

employee assistance programs - wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

employee assistance programs (eaps) are employee benefit programs offered by many employers, typically in conjunction with a health insurance plan. eaps are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, and well-being. eaps generally include assessment, short-term counseling and referral services for employees and their household members

many are separately run to maintain employee anonymity. my employees program ranges from assistance with housing, moving, info on college education, day care locations to providing resources on substance abuse, domestic abuse, debriefing after critical incidents and provides 3 free counseling sessions.
