THis is definitely low hiring season...on top of that the hiring freezes are not helping...I've done some reading around here and it could take up to six months for some people....but don't give up somebody will pick you up you just have to be a little aggresive and follow up....
I just got hired and got my dream job in the OR, I've been looking since the beginning of Nov. so it's totally possible....:wink2:
Good Luck!!!

Congratulations on finding your first job, I hear it's pretty hard out there right now. I will be graduating in June from an accelerated program in Chicago. My plan is to move to New York when I am done. Would you mind telling me a little about the process of finding your job? I'm curious to know how many hospitals you applied to, how the interviews were, and also if you started applying before you graduated.
Thanks!
I've heard about people applying before grad but noone will look at you without a license now, not during these times. I applied for jobs after passing the NCLEX.
I realized during my first interview that I had no interviewing skills...I am a perfect candidate for any hospital but I can't sell myself, you must have great interviewing skills it could make or break you. I went online and found a lot of helpful hints.
I have only done about 3 interviews...the 2 first ones were open house interviews....they went ok...didn't get hired though. The last one landed me the job!!! I sent you a pm message covering more info.
Thank you, I got your pm, but I couldn't figure out how to reply. I'll just cross my fingers and try for the best.
