I have also noticed that the information session link on the Cy-fair nursing department website for the ADN program has recently changed. It now includes a slide about the difficulties of getting a job after completing the program because of some push to have all BSN by the year 2020. I thought this was important and wanted to share it with everyone.

I saw that also, but I have been perusing the job websites and there were very few that stated you must have a BSN. Some stated ADN working on BSN and some say RN, ADN or BSN. I think the difficulties now are so many more nurses staying in the field instead of retiring due to the economy. Let's hope some things change in the next few years!!

Has Kingwood sent out letters yet? Today is October 4, 2011.

Does anyone know the cutoff? 11.4?

This is very frustrating. I was hoping when I signed on here, I would see how many people were excited about getting their letters- only to find out that the schools have not even began sending them! This is silly. The website says that letters are sent in "September".. we are in October. I don't understand why it is acceptable for them to not be on the ball about things when all of us have been? Part of me wonders if they wait longer just to mess with us because we are "bothering them to call and ask about it". The kingwood people are not very nice when you call. I have emailed Valerie several times over the last few weeks and I FINALLY got a response that says nothing more then "Letters will be going out in the next two weeks" This was 10 days ago... When I have called, she never answers and I leave voicemails but she does NOT return the calls. The one time she did answer, it sounded like it was by accident because she was like "Oh.. Hello?" I asked if letters had been sent or if she knew the cut off and she said "Ma'am the deadline to turn the applications in was JUST two weeks ago, we haven't even begun to look through the applications." I was stunned. I said "Oh, well the website says they go out this month.. this month is over in a few days".. her response: "Okay ma'am. Well, like I said we havent even began to look at them". I am trying to be patient and I am usually a nice person but it seems like they are really dragging on this. They need to keep us more informed. We are PAYING to go to college there and we have all invested a lot in this for them to be treating us like we are bothering them by asking simple questions. Make a website to keep pre-nursing students updated! Duh! Then, there wouldnt be so many phone calls... OR just send crap out when it is promised to be sent out!! Not acceptable.. very dissapointed. I think my frustration is coming from waiting so long... and also the delay in financial aid going through.. it was supposed to be applied to your account on 9/28 and the day of 9/28 they updated the message to say it was not going to start until 10/3...and, of course it is STILL NOT IN! I just hate waiting for things so, sorry if I am being ugly or offending anyone- just needed to vent. Hope we find out some stuff real soon

That is crazy!! They still have not looked at the applications at the end of September?? They do not realize all the time and effort we sacrifice, just to apply to nursing school.

I 100% agree with you HeatherEMT! i have tried few times calling the nursing department and NO ANSWER! i have been frustrated even before the deadline and i have been checking my mail this week nonstop. I am just upset on how they schedule a time for letters being sent out and then think that its okay to just do whatever they want and not inform us applicants on what the status are. Its very frustrating !!

OMG!!! I just got a text from a friend to check mylonestar email and the ADN department sent an email saying the letters will be sent out tomorrow!!!! It also says we will know our status soon.... :yeah:

The financial aid is disbursed to the school on the 28th. Then it is processed and released to you on the 3rd if you have a bank account set up. Paper checks start being sent on the 7th.

I agree with the above statement about financial aid...this is crazy to turn in all your paper work early, it doesn't matter, my grant came in late anyway...also I have not received anything in the mail or email or in mylonestar regarding anything relating to nursing school. GOOD GRIEF!!

I have not received an email other than the one about the refund being processed.
