Anyone applying?
@Kalisefer - I took the CNA class during the summer because I would like to get a part time job as an aide and get some experience because I am completely new to the world of nursing.
When I was young I did computer science, then after my daughter and my son were born I quit working (16 years ago!) and became a stay-at-home-mom. Now the kids are older and I decided to go back to school but not in the computer science area, but instead I wanted to do something to help others. I would like to put my little grain of sand to make the world better :heartbeat

lindalyn: i think doing CNA work is a great way to immerse yourself in the world of patient care...
no matter where you get hired, you'll see a variety of patients, health conditions, environmental conditions (nursing home, hospital, etc), job requirements and how staff work together.
Kudos to you for passing and getting started!
I just emailed the secretary (?) for the Kingwood nursing department to ask if she can give an application status, where the staff are in the selection process, an estimated letter mail date, etc.
If and when I hear from her, I'll post it so you all will know what she has to say.
If interested in contacting her too: [email protected]
or you can see KW & Cyfair's contacts here:

@robin1030 my situation is this, i was laid off from my job of 12.5 years, last june. I do not have an income and I am raising 3 children without support from their father. I was married for 16 years then we split up and do not have any communication at all whatso ever. I am stuck trying to make ends meet, but if I can get a job as a CNA maybe a little income can help me pay my through school and get tuition assistance from an employer. That's the route I am talking about.
I took micro in the summer at cy-fair and made an "A". I really like the class and I thought it was fairly easy to understand once you get past the 1st lecture exam, seriously. On my first lect exam I think I made a 98. My lowest score was on the last lab prat. I totally felt like I bombed it, but I still made an "A" in the class. HANG IN THERE BETH5278!!!

What route are you all talking about with the CNA?
@Kalisefer-That really stinks. I think our mail guy come around noonish and my yard really does need some work soooo guess that is the perfect day to do it. And with the way things have been around here lately, I don't think I have to worry much about rain lol
Hopefully the letters come sooner than expected though, I really don't want to have to wait through the weekend.
I am going COO COO with all this waiting and not knowing anything
