lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

yea usually financial aid will base your aid amount on how many credit hours you are enrolled and such. Well at least that is what they told me. But all of us know that that financial aid is messed up in general. They do not inform you of things until it already has happened. Believe I have had my run in with them a few times. Ugh

Echo I think Coastie is just a bit confused because she had an 11.19 and if you remember jenjen got accepted with an 11.14

I think alternates from a previous class who reapply during the following application timeframe get bumped up on the list.

I applied to Cyfair first, Kingwood second. My HESI was 88.8% and I have completed all of my pre-req's except for Pharm with a good GPA. Kingwood Nursing Director confirmed just a few hours ago via email that it is strictly based on the application score and score alone. I am waiting to hear back about what the discrepancy might be.

Ok so y would u only have a 11.19 than? If you got all A's and did enough credit hours, plus got a 88.8 on the HESI....than I think your score would be much higher like 11.5 +..............By the way the only score that is lower that ur talkin about is mine...So it's not scores it's a score so you should just asked me

I guess it would depend on your gpa of eng, psych, and a&p. I got an 88.8% on my Hesi as well and have finished all of my prereqs but only have a 3.3 GPA and that put me at an 10.86.

Not that you don't absolutely deserve your spot JennJenn because you do, but I have read that there have been misshaps such as that before where a few scores were skipped and lower scores got in. Who knows though only the nursing director can give her that information.

Does anyone have been accepted?

Yes, and Yes

:0)

And just to clarify I think she said she had a good gpa. That is subjective to most. What I think is good may not be the same as you or her. I don't think she was trying to personally attack anyone. I'm sure that it will all get worked out. I have been an alternate before so I know how frustrating the whole process is.

I applied at both, but Kingwood is just a little far for me to travel to every day and not be working, so I decided to stick with Cy Fair.

I got accepted into Kingwood's program with an 11.4932

I do not think that is true. If I were someone in that situation, I would hope it is true, but it just isn't. The process begins again every semester.

I was wondering, what comes next? I have 2 more requirements on my "to do" list: health insurance, and background check.

Do I have to wait for an email to get fingerprinted for my background check? Does anyone know the time frame for this process?
