lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

I'm curious about which classes and clinicals each of you prefer that are accepted to Kingwood. Days or nights for classes? Friday or Saturday clinicals?

It is my understanding that you do to some extent. If everyone wanted nights they would make the decision based off of your score when you applied. It asked on your intent to enroll form what you preferred so I was curious where others stood.

The ADN Intent to Enroll form for CyFair does not give you that option unfortunately.

In the LVN program we have some clinicals that are from 1300-2100 (I think) while the rest are 0630-1430; however, we are not given a choice, although it would be nice if the dept. would factor in students with parents who don't have late-evening day care options available.

This may be due to smaller class sizes than Kingwood or perhaps reduced faculty & clinical instructors. Speculation only of course.

My understanding is that only Kingwood offers the night program. I feel horrible.:bluecry1: I have been sick since yesterday but can't wait til Tuesday .

Well I requested the day class. My older kids are in school and plan on taking my 3 year old son to the kid care at kingwood if he gets accepted....If I did the evening class my family would just fall apart w/o me there at night (dinner and homework would be a disaster) lol....but if there are too many ppl wanting the days and I just so happen to get the evening class than oh-well I guess we will have to figure something out.

I hope you feel better!! I was sick around the time when we got our acceptance letters....Sneezing, coughing, chest congestion, sinus congestion....It lasted for about a week, my son had the same thing to it is a virus that is going around.

Childcare for Tuesday is becoming a hurdle for me right now...Already have gone thru two ppl who were supposed to watch my son that day...now hoping grandparents will come thru for us....def going to need daycare when the program begins.....:down:

I am having the same issue but my only easy day will be Tuesday because my son is in mdo that day.

I requested day classes. Evenings can work for us if we need them to but days are much better for my family aside from the childcare issue this semester. Starting in the fall he will be in preschool and can go while I am at class. It's just the first semester that will be tough.
