Today is the deadline and as of 12:00PM there are no apps being accepted, so they say :chuckle
Okay for all of us that are waiting, this is our official I'm waiting , checking the mail daily :imbar, going crazy
, biting my nails
, at the edge of my seat
, can hardly concentrate on anything else :typing, Kingwood and Cyfair Spring 2009 awaiting thread:yeah:We still have a while to go before letters are going to be sent out but let's keep each other encouraged and cross our fingers for everyone that applies!
So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair?
Good luck future nurses
Is it your understanding that we are to wait for the background check until after the orientation? As far as shots, I only need the tetorifice/diptheria and I saw a sign at Randalls the other day that they do those there now also. HBV also there also but I have that completed. Oh, I have to get a TB test done yet. Concentra does that for $25 and their located all over time. I've had chickenpox, mumps and all the blood tests are done also. Fortunately since I work at LabCorp, the blood tests are all free. I guess I have to get my physical next.
Last but not least, I have to do a major clean on this house. Is your signaficant others able to cook or are they going to live on frozen meals? Since my family is older they should be able to clean up after themselves but I'm going to make up a schedule for them with assigned rooms. This worked good for them in the summer before. Ok, I'm running off at the mouth so I'll just stop now.
My girls love pb&j and although that is not a cooked meal, they will have it for dinner any night. The only thing that my husband knows how to make are Ramen, sausages, hot dogs, Eggo waffles, scramble eggs and oatmeal :chuckle I bought a crock pot so that they could have a home cooked meal at least three nights a week and I'm currently teaching my 10 year old to cook more things in the microwave. I am complete with the Hepatitis shots, may need a booster but I have all three completed. I had chicken pox and had my MMR shots and Tetorifice but may have to get another Tetorifice but I had titers drawn for all of them to see. I need a TB test done also. I am starting to do a clean on this weekend to be finished by December at the latest.
Keep on rambling, we can probably figure out some things together
If you go to the Nursing page @ Kingwood, there's a link to Certified Background. This is the one you have to turn in. Just make sure you save a copy to give to Ms. Seaback, the Director of Nursing. FYI, please keep a copy of all your immunizations, physical, and background check. Like everywhere else, it sometimes grows legs!!
Well you guys, I went ahead and did one with Certified and it was $35.00. My goal is to be able to turn in all my items the day of orientation, it's my hope anyway so I see no reason to not start if you want to. If you want try googling the other companies name, I believe that is for fingerprinting and it was only $10 or $12, real cheap, so that's the other reason I don't think it's the full background check.
