omgossh hahah...for some reason i was thinking the 21st was the day after thanksgiving..bahhaha..i feel like an idiot now. yay!! I CAN go to the orientation on the 21st!!

We'll all get to meet each other!:lol2::lol2::lol2:

I signed up for the CPR on 11/22 at Kingwood with instructor Sharpe.

I can't wait but I'm so nervous too. Hey, don't feel bad, I thought Turkey day was on the 21st also.

I dropped off my letter of intent this morning. :yeah::lol2::yeah:Now I'm looking to see if I can register for CPR!! I can't believe this is actually happening!

I know what ya mean! I keep pinching myself and I caught myself saying to my family last night, 'If I get into the RN program.........'.

I've been saying 'if' for so long, it's hard to believe it still.

I'm gathering all my documents together, trying to schedule CPR, research shoes and look for uniforms... I know it's before orientation but there's nothing wrong with a little research so I can have my ducks in a row :lol2:

Is it your understanding that we are to wait for the background check until after the orientation? As far as shots, I only need the tetorifice/diptheria and I saw a sign at Randalls the other day that they do those there now also. HBV also there also but I have that completed. Oh, I have to get a TB test done yet. Concentra does that for $25 and their located all over time. I've had chickenpox, mumps and all the blood tests are done also. Fortunately since I work at LabCorp, the blood tests are all free. I guess I have to get my physical next.

Last but not least, I have to do a major clean on this house. Is your signaficant others able to cook or are they going to live on frozen meals? Since my family is older they should be able to clean up after themselves but I'm going to make up a schedule for them with assigned rooms. This worked good for them in the summer before. Ok, I'm running off at the mouth so I'll just stop now.

My girls love pb&j and although that is not a cooked meal, they will have it for dinner any night. The only thing that my husband knows how to make are Ramen, sausages, hot dogs, Eggo waffles, scramble eggs and oatmeal :chuckle I bought a crock pot so that they could have a home cooked meal at least three nights a week and I'm currently teaching my 10 year old to cook more things in the microwave. I am complete with the Hepatitis shots, may need a booster but I have all three completed. I had chicken pox and had my MMR shots and Tetorifice but may have to get another Tetorifice but I had titers drawn for all of them to see. I need a TB test done also. I am starting to do a clean on this weekend to be finished by December at the latest.

Keep on rambling, we can probably figure out some things together :lol2:

i turned in my letter of intent today ;). I can't wait for orientation. It seems like to me as well Rj that we have to wait till after orientation to get a background check.

If you go to the Nursing page @ Kingwood, there's a link to Certified Background. This is the one you have to turn in. Just make sure you save a copy to give to Ms. Seaback, the Director of Nursing. FYI, please keep a copy of all your immunizations, physical, and background check. Like everywhere else, it sometimes grows legs!!

Thanks Soso, that kind of makes sense because I googled the other companies name, made an appt to see what if would do and it seems that place is for fingerprinting.

Soso-

Did you guys have to get fingerprinted?

Well you guys, I went ahead and did one with Certified and it was $35.00. My goal is to be able to turn in all my items the day of orientation, it's my hope anyway so I see no reason to not start if you want to. If you want try googling the other companies name, I believe that is for fingerprinting and it was only $10 or $12, real cheap, so that's the other reason I don't think it's the full background check.

No fingerprinting. The background check can be done online and they should e-mail a copy of the report to Kingwood. If they send it to you make sure you save a copy and forward one to the nursing dept.
