Licensure in a new state

Published

The hubs and I are open to moving to a new place... new state, new region, etc. Our choice would be based, in part, on me finding The Dream Job (I'm a diabetes educator and it is what I love and am best at).

Any advice on applying for jobs in places where you aren't licensed. I am an RN w/ three years experience... but I'm only licensed in my state. I can't check the box for the on-line applications that says are you licensed in PA, DC, CA, etc.

Any insight anyone can offer? Thanks!

Since you do have experience and certification in a specialty area, I encourage you to contact a health care recruiting firm. They can help 'shop' your resume directly to prospective employers without getting snagged in the online application process. DON'T work with any firm that asks you for money.... reputable firms are paid by the organization that is doing the hiring, not the job seeker.

Best of luck in your search.
