Introduction Letter

I'm writing intro letters to 2 attorneys that I was referred to. It's my first SERIOUS marketing start. I've been getting all sorts of things settled to get my business started up, but the fear of both success and failure has had me doing a lot of procrastinating, which ends NOW. Any good tips for introduction letters? I did the VMI home course and home apprenticeship, so basically going by the guidelines there. The letters WILL go in the mail tomorrow, just hoping for some last minute words of wisdom (or wisdom I can use on future letters). One is to a very experienced attorney, the other one is only a year out of law school, so my letters to both are very different. Experienced, trying to focus on how I can help him out even though I know he's already adept at the medical stuff but this way he can focus on the legal stuff. The new attorney, how I can help him screen his cases and I can handle medical, he can handle legal.

For the initial letter, I plan to include letter, business card and a brochure.

Any other tips? (Or words of encouragement?:) I'm starting to understand why tons of nurses take the classes but only a few actually end up doing the work. It's so much scarier to market yourself than to go apply for a job at a hospital with a hundred RN openings!)

I am also starting to look for a position as an LNC, I've been taking the Kaplan course and am finally thinking that I am ready to take the next step. Do I start with the phone book or is there a better way to begin? I hope to be able to intern at first to gain experience and confidence in this area. Any suggestions?

Many utilize the phone book. Others, online. One thing you need to do, however, is verify the attorney is still associated with that firm before you spend the time, effort, money to send an Intro letter/marketing packet. Do a pre-marketing phone call to verify name/address, etc.

I wish you good luck with your marketing techniques, Bearzrul and let us know when you finish the Kaplan course. If you have questions, please start a thread and we will be happy to assist you.

Any ideas for getting a sample case together for a new CLNC. Something to show an attorney for a work product?

Thanks for any suggestions

Hello, camp highlander,

You should be able to find sample reports from the Milazzo site since you are CLNC.

If you would like to discuss this any further, let me know. I'll be happy to help you.

SirI, Is it possible you could send me tips on intro letters as well to see if I am on track? I will be phone calling 3 attorneys Monday that I have already sent intro letters to. I also phoned them last week (reached their voice mail) saying I would call back Monday to schedule an interview.

I plan to send more intro letters either next week, or just before Xmas. I will also be hand delivering intro packages after the holidays. Is it a good idea to take candy or other small goodies on these visits?

Again, thank you for your previous help.

Hi, Kats2,

I sent you a private message.

Yes, candy or other goodies are great to take with you. Is a nice ice-breaker with the gatekeeper and/or other staff.

Good luck!!
