Hello,
I recently got into the Le Moyne and St. Joseph's accelerated nursing program but I haven't seen a lot of reviews about the program. I was wondering if there are any newly accepted student, alumni or current student out there to share. Thanks

Hi!
I was also accepted to this program for the July 2016 start date! I'm from Syracuse so I am looking forward to being close to home. I have heard good things about the program from alumni and at the info session I attended.

I was just accepted to St. Joe's in the weekday program to start Fall 2016. SO EXCITED! I've heard a lot of really good things about their program and I had a friend who did the accelerated 18 month program a few years ago. Unfortunately, she didn't finish because her son was diagnosed with a very rare, severe cancer in her last semester and she had to leave to take care of him so she never ended up taking the NCLEX, but she told me that she felt it was a very good program (although extremely intense). I've always had people react very positively to the news that I wanted to attend St. Joe's and was told by multiple healthcare professionals that in their opinion SJCON is the best nursing school in the area.

I start the program July 2016 as well!! I'm super excited to start and have been trying to organize my life as much as possible beforehand. The first orientation is in April so I'm looking forward to meeting other students and getting more information. I spoke to a girl that recently graduated the program and she absolutely LOVED it!! She took the NCLEX right after graduation, passed and got a job within a few months! Great to find a few others that start this July!!!
I am excited as well How are paying for the program ? Private loan or fin aid?
When did you get your Student Web Access credentials for SONIS, just out of curiousity? I was accepted late last month and immediately sent in my deposit, enrolled February 24th, and I still don't have access I was really hoping to find out ASAP about the checklist of things I need to complete (CPR course, VitalCheck, etc.) but they are taking their sweet time.
Hi Kemzyk, I completed the FAFSA for federal and state aid so we will see how that pans out. I looked into scholarships and it seems really difficult and very time consuming for some of them. I'm hoping to be eligible for grant money and cross my fingers that federal loans will cover the rest.
Hi Emmjay, We recently received a letter in February about our orientation dates etc. for the July start. On their website it states you would receive Sonisweb info but that was not included in the letter. The letter stated that nothing else needed to be done as of yet and orientation material would be sent seperately. I'm not sure if it will come with orientation material or if they will give us that info at our first orientation in April. I was wanting to get a head start on all that too! There's a lot of things that need to be completed for the enrollment process and I had wanted to get going on it!! I'm just going to go ahead and get my vaccinations updated and get my physical exam done, along with my CPR to get those out of the way.
I was hoping St. Joes had a Facebook page but I have yet to find one. It would be nice to keep in contact with other students in the program!!
So you got your letter about 5 months before your start date.... if they stick with that time table I should be keeping an eye out for a letter in the next couple of weeks for my late August start date. I'm holding off on the CPR course (for now) because the lady who interviewed me told me that the college would be putting on a course in May and she recommended that I wait until then because the certification is good for 2 years and if I take it in May it will tide me over for my entire time in the 2 year program. I'm probably just going to call and ask about vaccinations - I've a funny feeling I don't have all of the ones they're going to want because my parents were weird about vaccinations growing up.
They don't have an official one, I was looking the other day too. All there is is this unofficial one: St. Joseph's College of Nursing - Syracuse, New York - College & University | Facebook
I don't think I'd feel comfortable posting there haha.
