Personally, I'd choose the telemetry unit. At our facility, it's the step-down unit from ICU. So, you get pts that require a higher level of care. Plus, if cardiac makes you "tick", it'll probably be a good fit.

I had the same problem! It came down to picking the units where I liked the staff the most and felt the most excitement about. My top choice was CVICU and I got it! I also lucked out and got a preceptor that also works in the ER as well. I am Halfway done and I'm loving it! Go with your gut, in any case you'll get some great nursing experience.
Thank you for the advice! I went with my gut feeling an put telemetry as my top choice, followed by ICU and lastly Peds Medsurg. I haven't heard of many who want telemetry as most people in my cohort are going for L&D or postpartum so hopefully there's a good chance I'll get Tele

Are any of the choices in PICU? That would combine both!
