Hello allnurses.com;
I notice there is no thread for Lakewood residency for summer 2011 so i decided to start one....
Has anyone heard anything for the Lakewood RN residency program? I know the deadline for applications was on June 27, 2011 but I'm wondering if anyone has been contacted at all?
Actually, the lady said someone was going on vacation and that's why they were setting up interviews later on this month. From what I understood, there wont be interviews while this person is on vacation and then they'll pick up the interviews again. She didn't really give me much information. I do know that there were 10 people Cc'd on the follow-up email she sent me that will be attending the panel interview. Sheesh!!Good luck to everyone!
Yeah, I had 9 at my interview. One couldn't make it. Don't worry though - they are all extremely friendly! They made me really comfortable. You'll do great! Congrats and good luck

Thanks Nicole! Good luck to you, too! :heartbeat I'm just going to be myself and answer questions the best that I can. It is comforting to know that they are friendly.
I've been to 2 interviews, including a panel interview, for another hospital chain, and everyone was very nice as well. I think many times, they are looking for personality, confidence, and chemistry with the people you will be working with. They want to know that you are a good "fit." :)
I am really excited about the Versant program. It would also be an awesome opportunity! It is such a hard program to get into.
Hello everyone,
I actually received a call as well from Lakewood Regional. My interview is next week. I feel good about it. I'm not a nervous person and I feel the same as Bella, They look for confidence and personality. It's important to be you, no matter if they are going to like you or not. As well as they are interviewing you, you are also wanting it to be a good "fit" especially being that there is a 3 year commitment.
I feel very lucky to be part of the few selected to interview. I would be ecstatic if I am chosen. Especially being as the program starts so soon. I'm ready to work! Being a nurse is my dream and I can't wait. @Nicole, Is there only one interview or we will need to attend another one? Also, how soon will they make calls notifying the program candidates that they have been selected?

Congratulations!! There is only the one interview, and you are correct that they are looking for confidence and personality. Make sure your excitement and passion show through too. :)
They told me they were hoping to call in about 2 weeks, but definitely before the end of the month.
Good luck! :heartbeat
So, I went on my interview today and it's true, there are literally 10 people there. They were extremely nice and made me feel really welcome. Some of them spoke and half didn't really. I don't know. I think I did well but what do I know what they're looking for. They asked me questions and I answered as best I could. Lasted about 40-45 minutes. 2 of them walked out with me and told me that I did really well. :yeah:We shall see.
It really isn't that bad. They said I would either receive a phone call or a letter letting me know their decision by the end of the month. It seems like a really good place to work and the support system is awesome. Wish I knew sooner though, because I've been offered a position elsewhere that's literally 2 minutes away by car from my house, while this one is about 30-45 minutes away. Just have to pass the background check. Oh well. I'm leaving this in God's hands.
Good luck to all that are interviewing! Relax and be yourself!
I'm very happy for u congrats... For both the interview & for ur job offer... Good luck in ur new job :))

I was hoping the new post in this thread was you reporting that you got a position, Bella!! I hope you hear something soon.
For me, I was offered a position at Lakewood! I signed all the new hire paperwork on Thursday. The HR rep said she wanted to go ahead and get my paperwork out of the way early, so I don't think they've hired all the positions yet.
Good luck to everyone else in the running! I hope to hear that we'll be coworkers soon :)
