Is it true that lakeview regional hospital is private, and will therefore send rn's home if not needed? Im a student and heard not to work there b/c hours are not always guarenteed.
Also, do you have to have experience before ST, Tammany or Lakeview will hire a new grad?

Lakeview Regional is an HCA facility and if you are staff, they will not send you home but they will float you. What they normally do if over-staffed is ask is someone wants to go home. They usually have takers for this offer. Northshore hospitals do hire new grads but the conditions are pretty bleaks, especially at Northoaks in Hammond (avoid them).
cenote,
thanks so much for the tip!

What does this mean, avoid Northoaks? I did clinicals there 13 years ago, and noticed they were sort of cliquish (sp), but was curious,,,,
