about KU nursing school?

Published

I am a high school student very interested in nursing. I have been researching schools and thought the KU nursing school was very impressive. I would like to be in the BSN program. Is it possible to take community college pre-reqs for two years, and apply to KU school of nursing afterwards or do you have to be enrolled at KU for the complete four years? Also has anyone who is either in the KU nursing program or has graduated from there have any positive or negetive things to say about the program?

Any information about any nursing programs in the KC area would be great. Thank You!

I've recently been accepted to the nursing program in the fall 2009, and have a few helpful tips for you!

From what I've experienced and learned, its a better idea to actually go to KU, you have a MUCH better shot at getting into the program there. Also I've seen posts that say you need a 3.7 and please do not let this fool you, I was accepted with a 3.29. I completed my first 2 years at the Ku Lawrence campus and sent in 5 letters of recs., a 8 page essay, and had my CNA and plenty pf volunteer time.

When your ready, you'll do fine, but you do have to work your butt off!!:nuke:

KUs SON is very good, I would suggest going to www.ku.edu and checking to make sure that credits transfer for the main prereq classes they require... the worst feeling ever is being ready for school then learning a class didn't transfer.... bleh!
