I'm going to be graduating soon, and as we all know this is a tough time for new nurses. Was just wondering if any you happened to work at or otherwise know of any psych hospitals that will consider new nurses? I'm willing to move almost anywhere, but I have my heart set on mental health. Would be eternally grateful for your help!

You could also try applying to places that say 1 year of experience required/preferred. If you have a strong interest in psych you may be able to sell them into taking a chance on you. If you can do your preceptorship/externship in psych that will also help your chances.

I have seen a few ads for new grads at Coalinga State Hosp in Coalinga,CA. The CA dept of mental health covers several hospitals in in CA but the one in Coalinga is the one I've seen advertised several times looking for employees and saying "no exp required"..."hiring new grads."

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
