Kiss of Death?!?

Published

I just took the NCLEX today and had ALL 265 questions. It's been several hours since the test and I still feel nauseated. From my understanding of the NCLEX, if the computer has a difficult time assessing your competency, the difficulty level of your last question determines whether or not you pass. Has anyone else heard this?

When I got up to question #260 I had a "check all the above" question (aside from a ton of those I also had lots of delegation and triage questions). What I'm worried about...is the last five questions weren't all that difficult. I also had quite a bit of math for meds towards the end. Isn't math for meds in the last part of the exam the kiss of death?

 oops i thanked when i was trying to reply to you. anyway, as you know nclex is different for everyone. i don't think there is a particular "kiss of death" r/t any one kind of question. and you're just as likely to pass at 265 as at 75 or any question in between. i think you are just stressing out, and you are going to make yourself crazy! i had 75 questions and when that computer turned off i wanted to cry because i knew i had not demonstrated my competence in those 75 questions. i felt like i needed an ativan or a couple stiff drinks after that i was so anxious. i paid the extra money to get early computer results (it is worth the money) and when i saw that i had passed the stress just melted off. try to relax, do something fun, and think positively!:nurse:

:chuckle Ativan and a couple of drinks? I think I need a few shots of pepto to calm down my stomach. You're right.. I am going to make myself crazy thinking about it. The only way to know for sure is to view the results in two business days. I guess I'll know on Tuesday. Argh.

Don't torture yourself. You can analyze and analyze, but you won't know until you know.

Taking max questions does not mean failure. Many have passed with max questions

Good luck
