U.S.A. Kentucky

Can anyone give me an example of the LPN schedule for Beckfield College, just got accepted and just curious. Thanks

i have attended beckfield's lpn program over the past year, and here is the curriculum my class followed:

1st qtr.

bio145-anatomy & physiology

eng111-composition i

pnr110-intro to healthcare

2nd qtr.

moa111-medical terminology

mth105-applied mathematics for nursing

pnr120-health care & assessment

3rd qtr.

med110-pharmacology/dosage & calculations

pnr130-safe medication delivery

pnr200-medical-surgical care

 (this qtr. sucks b/c we had labs for all of these courses+a 9 hr. weekly clinical rotation.

4th qtr.

pnr205-pediatric nursing

pnr210-maternal reproduction

psy101-principles of psychology

5th qtr.

pnr220-trends & issues w/intergrated practicum

soc105-interpersonal communication

i heard that they may have added another biology class to the curriculum, and other changes are possible as well. i think they are still working out the quirks, since it is a relatively new program at beckfield.

you will have labs every qtr, except 5th-not sure about 4th now.. also, clinical rotation is every qtr.

if you are interested in any of the textbooks or other stuff, let me know. maybe we can work out a deal & save you some :twocents:! good luck!!!

Hi, greeneyedeb. Thanks for your response . If I can save money that sounds good to me. They did add another BIO class. So were you in class Mon-Fri 8-5?

hello poetresmom,

the curriculum listed by greeneyeddeb is not current. if you have been accepted into the pn program i am sure the nursing admissions personnel have provided you with a current copy of the pn curriculum. if you do not have that copy, i would strongly recommend requesting one from nursing admissions.

program content is something that should always be upgraded and changed as the ever-changing healthcare industry changes. it is my understanding that the changes that have taken place most recently in the lpn curriculum at beckfield college was not done to "work out quirks" but to prepare the lpn graduates for a smooth transition into the the lpn to rn bridge program that beckfield college is currently working on.

beckfield has had a pn program in place now for over 2 years and the nclex-pn pass rate was 95% in 2010.

i would also advise you to complete your financial aid appointment as soon as possible so that your seat can be reserved and a schedule of your classes can be provided. you should also request a book list from nursing admissions. i would caution you against buying any "used" textbooks until you have the list that describes what books are being used for which classes. isbn numbers and titles can be found on the book list provided by nursing admissions.

i have found beckfield college to be very up front, honest and pro-student so i would finally suggest that you

bring these questions to the nursing admissions representatives attention. good luck!:lol2:
