I am!! I'm graduating in 2 weeks...yay!!

Starting BSN at Kent Stark Fall 2008

I'm down here at KSU Tuscarawas in the two year ADN program!

From being at Kent, what hospitals are you guys planning on working at?? I hear Akron childrens pays really well if you like peds but besides that, hear anything good about anywhere?

Specializes in Med Surg, Telemetry, BCLS.

I just entered into the pre-nursing program at Kent Main Campus but due to closed classes I'm now enrolled in Sum III and Fall 08 at the Geauga campus.

Once I finish my 4 science classes (pre-req) I can then apply to the accelerated nursing program.

What specialties are you in or are interested in?

How did you gain your experience? Have any advice?

I'm hoping to one day work for the Cleveland Clinic. Although it seems that on almost every major intersection there's a hospital or health campus being built where I live! LOL!

Definitely a lot of available jobs for all of us and then some! :)

Hope to keep in touch with all of you!

I'm returning to the main campus this Fall for my junior sequence. I've been out for awhile raising babies.

I've done most of my classes at the Stark campus, but there wasn't enough space to return there, so now I'm headed to main campus. I hate main campus. I've been spoiled, lol....

Well, since you've been out awhile you'll be pleasantly surprised to see all the changes made to the main campus! I know I have.

Everything is electronic, almost all accessible via the web! Did you know that you could take online web classes too for many of the nursing classes? So you can enroll in any one of the KSU campuses but remain at home to learn and return only to that particular campus to take the test.

One class that I have I get to take the test online. Go figure! LOL!

Although I think going to the campus to meet new people going through the same classes and issues we are would be fun.

Welcome back to school! :yeah:

Oh yes, soooo many things have changed. I took P. chem at the stark campus in the Spring and it was like I was lost. The first week was interesting, lol...

I really have a lot of anxiety to deal with too. I left after my first clinical and it's been so long. I'm trying to review everything but there is so much and it seems I've forgotten most of it, lol. I just hope I wind up with a nice clinical instructor. My last one was The Instructor From Hell. Ugh.

Akron children's dosn't pay that well, but if you like peeds then it's definitly a wonderful place to work. WHen it comes down to it money only means so much, i loved it there when i did clinical. I will be working at AGMC i tech'd there for 2 years in the ER and now i'm going to work in the CCU i love it there!!

I really want to work there but first I have to get a clinical rotation under my belt...

It's hard to get into akron childrens but if it's where you want to work just keep trying.

I loved pediatrics and akron childrens!! I decided to go into adults though. I've worked at Akron General for 2 years as a tech and now will be staying there as an RN!!

Go for it if you want to work at Children's!! I just know a nurse who i worked with who said that she worked at Akron childrens for 10years switched to Akron general and started out making more then she was making at akron childrens after 10years!! Money isn't everything so it's what you want to do!! If i wanted Pediatrics that bad i would try Rainbow babies and children in cleveland!! That's also a wonderful hospital, but both are very hard to get into!!
