I am writing this post, while I am in the proces of doing my final question trainer #7 and I must say that it is very discouraging to have low scores. So far these are my scores....
QT 1...53%
QT 2...56%
QT 3...54%
QT 4...58%
QT 5...52%
QT 6...60%
QT 7...still working on it...but I think it will be 55%.
My question bank test are usually in the 50-60%
So what I have been wondering is, does recieving low question trainer scores on your kaplan test mean that you will fail the NCLEX?
I would like for those people who have taken the kaplan program and received low scores like me, to share with us all if you passed the NCLEX with flying colors or not. It would be nice if you can say also how many question you had...I believe this will lower my anxieties and nervousness of taking the NCLEX with very low kaplan test scores.
Oh, and I am scheduled to take my NCLEX on Saturday.
Mahalo.

I know how you feel. My QT scores are quite discouraging. They are 59, 57, 51, 53 and 59. I haven't done 6 or 7 yet, and I'm kind of afraid to.
I've read many posts though, and everybody says not to concentrate too much on the QT scores. I know it's hard not to especially when Kaplan says we should be scoring 65% to have a good chance to pass NCLEX.
I've spent the last 9 months studying for this test and I'm just about drained. (I graduated in '99 and just now retesting after 1 failed attempt). I will be testing in April.
I wish you the best of luck!

hi guys
dont be discouraged by the scores.. i too have gotten those scores but unfortunately i didnt pass my 1st or 2nd time.... now im gearing up for my 3rd and final attempt....
BUT to shed some encouragement on your scores.. my best friend got the same scores and passed her exam with her 1st attempt... so i would say try not go get too caught up on the scores, more the rationales.. also from my previous experience kaplans t6/t7 were more like the boards.
hope this helps any and goodluck to all of us!

don't focus so much on the scores. the nclex questions are very similar and sometimes just like the NCLEX. you are graded on being able to get the hardest questions 50% right and 50% wrong on the NCLEX. YOu are not expected to get a perfect because you are not an expert nurse. we have to remember that it is grading you as an entry level (novice) nurse. keep doing the kaplan because it helps alot.:typing you get out of it what you out in. if you have the book continually read the chapters about how to answer questions. especially the chapter titled there's more than one way to skin a cat!!!:bowingpur ALSO learn some relaxation techniques because as soon as you see a question that you have no clue what they are talking about you will panic.

My scores are pretty discouraging too. I've only taken Q-T's 1 and 2. My scores for those were 56% and 53% respectively. I'm giving Kaplan a break while I brush up on the content from Saunders. Maybe that's what's tripping me up. :S
However, my friend, who also took Kaplan got the following scores:
Q-T1= 56%
Q-T2= 65%
Q-T3= 59%
Q-T4= 56%
Q-T5= 61%
Q-T6= 62%
I'm not really sure what she got on Q-T7, but she told me that the only time she made a 65% was on Q-T2. She passed with 75 q's. So, she told me to concentrate on the rationales and to write them down on a notebook and study from that. She didn't study anything else but Kaplan.
