I'm not aware of a way to access Kaplan without actually paying for the course (or using the info of someone else who paid for it). There is a lot of stuff available online for free but I have never seen the Kaplan qbank and trainers.
You can get some of their questions and a diagnostic test by purchasing their book for about $30. It's not nearly as extensive but it does outline the strategies and has practice questions. There is also a CD that allows you to practice on the computer.

Here is a link to MedsPub questions that someone else provided here on Allnurses: http://online.medspub.com/meds/use-online-product.ashx?token=A53DAF82-7D36-4BAC-9DA0-C1214191A463. There are approx. 1250 questions and I think the the questions are really good. Plus they're free!!! I've found tons of great resources to help me prepare, all you really have to do is Google a lil bit. As the person mentioned above, Kaplan sells a strategies book that is like $30 and you can purchase it at any bookstore. The book is great b/c it gives you strategies to break down the NCLEX questions and a total of 360 questions. Also, try your local library. I have borrowed tons of great NCLEX RN review books (Lippincott Q&A, NCLEX Made Incredibly Easy, Hurst Review, Exam Cram) all through my library. Also, if you did not know Google Books offers book previews for many NCLEX books. Now, you're not going to get every page of the book, but it's better than nothing. Here is an example of a limited preview of Kaplan's 2010 Strategies book: http://books.google.com/books?id=PLkH682ebrEC&pg=PP1&dq=kaplan+nclex+rn&lr=. Hopefully these tips are helpfull!!!!! OH YEA, I almost forgot. The NCSBN offers an NCLEX review for a reasonable price. I believe that 3 wks= $49, 5 wks= $69, and so on. You should check them out. You do know that Kaplan offers several levels of courses. You have the full complete course (where you attend classes), the full online course (no classes but online lectures), and an option where you can have access to the 3,000 question qbank $299. If the $299 price is still too steep, Kaplan also has books available with 1,000 questions and a brief overview of the strategies at Amazon. Those books generally go for $35.00 (right now the 2010 version is selling for $23.10).

Yeah that strategies book has 180 questions on a CD and 180 in the book. They are all questions from the QBANK. I think that will suffice since you are doing Nclex 4000 and Saunders. Those are good study tools themselves.
I take my Nclex at 2pm TODAY! Guess I need to get there huh, lol. Wish me luck.
BTW, I only used the Kaplan Strategies and Nclex 3500 for questions. I took the Hurst review but that was like 2 mths ago and I'm sure thats gone by now, lol. I'll let you know how it went!

I would find the money and pay to get Kaplan review. It might be expensive, but worth the money. I took Kaplan review and I passed the first time with 75 questions. I think you are spending more money each time you have to register for the tests and losing money working as a nurse. When you sign up with Kaplan, you are getting more than the Qtrainers and the Qbanks. You have access to the video contents as well, which I find very helpful. You also get your money back if you do not pass. It is a good investment. Good luck to you!

I am right there with you! I too will be taking it for the 5th time, thought it was going to be the 4th until I looked back at all my papers. I am going to do Kaplan after I do some studying on my own 1st. I want to be good and ready for it! I have 3 small kids so am going to do the online complete. Best of luck to you. PM me if you ever want to talk!
OMG!!! The Nclex is a BEAST! Just took it. Cut me off at 83 questions. But do get the Kaplan book, some of the questons were VERY similar...
Oooh...that's easier said than done!! Wish I had time to tell you what I am going thru along with studying for the NCLEX!! Im on a strict, tight budget!! But it's ok. I have seen the Kaplan book that you all are talking about in Barnes and Noble. I read it when I go there to study. Thanks for all your advice!!! I truly appreciate it!!

i totally understand being on a tight budget.i really suggest taking the test at the end of the book while you're at barnes and noble. look for the book prioritization, delegation, and assignment by lacharity while you are there as well. my studying for the nclex included 75 questions a day in review mode from the nclex 3500(these are free online by the way) and the tests from the kaplan book. i did maybe 2 sections from the lacharity book just to get into answering priority questions. honestly what i feel helped the most was the nclex 3500 and kaplan. as i was getting questions on nclex i could remember the nclex 3500/kaplan ?'s and this helped me choose the best answer. i passed with 83 questions.
WOW!! That is great!!! I'm using NCLEX 4000. I have the CD. I do questions from there and Saunders. I did Feuer Nursing Review in New York last month. It's a great review course. I have the audio CD's, so I listen to those and that really helps. As I go over questions, if I get them wrong i read the rationale and then I use my med-surg book to review over the info. That has definitely been helping. I just have to stay focused and prayed up!!

Great! Shanny I do have FEUER audio reviewer as well and I love it. According to my friend who recently took and passed the NCLEX, we have to use and read the Lacharity reviewer as well. He had difficulty answering the questions, the actual question. He didn't undergo a formal review because he's busy and he's working in a call center. He thought that he failed but he passed. He finished the 265 questions, he regrets why he didn't take the formal review. So, he told me to have my formal review and need to spend money and to exert and focused with the review...
He belongs to the top 5 in our school and we are one of the scholars and fortunate that we were able to avail the free tuition..
We are one of the best schools in leyte...
So, he's my inspiration..
Good luck to us..
We'll pass the exam..
God Bless!
