Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.
Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!
Hello.. I am currently an LVN and I wanted to know if there are any Kaplan LVN to RN students out there... I want to know what the schedule is like! I work mon-friday so I want to know what its like before i even attempt to try to get in... Thanks!!!
prereq (G.E.) classes are scheduled monday to thursday as early as 7am and could be as late as 6pm. LVN to RN students have their transition classes on Fridays.
Is anyone on this thread that is in/hoping to get in to the January ADN program? I have a bachelors degree and got a 28 on the Wonderlic and just took the admissions test on 12/2. I got a 100% on the Reading and 89% on the Math. I'm happy with my scores, but I'm still anxious waiting to hear! Obviously, life could be changing dramatically very soon. Anyone else in the same boat???

you'll get in
You can read some of my comments above. Right now I can't tell yet if I like the program since i'm just in my 1st semester, but I got to talk to some 5th semester people, one with a BS in engineering like me and another one with a BS Bio from ucsd, they seem to like it, so I'll probably like it too. :)thanks engnr2RN...do you attend Kaplan. I'd love to hear how you like the program.

Hi I was just wondering why you think you have no option in applying to public/private schools with a previous degree? I have a BS in Nutrition and applied to CSU San Marcos, Azusa, and National, all of which accept people with previous degrees. I am currently going to CSUSM (ABSN) and I also got accepted to Azusa. You have an advantage with a previous degree in terms of getting into these programs. I personally would not reccommend going to Kaplan. The trend now a days is getting a BSN, some hospitals will not even consider your app if you do not have a BSN. Especially if the hospital is Magnet.
