Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

Does anyone know what kind of background check they do/how strict it is? I got an infraction( pretty much just a regular speeding ticket) about 6 months ago and I'm really worried that it is going to affect my chances of getting in. Don't they count even the smallest things such as infractions when doing the background check? pls lemme kno if you do

I read this entire thread before from the beginning and I think I remember someone saying that even the slightest infraction (like tinted windows,speeding, etc) could be an issue. talk to your rep to be sure.

Yeah I hope they call us soon too!

Damn I'm so worried still even if i did get in, when they do the background check. I have a misdemeanor for a petty theft(stupid decision a couple months ago) and my court date is on august 5th next month. This is the only thing I have on my record...**** I really hope the judge will bring it down to an infraction or take it off. Maybe cuz it's my first offense?

but anyway yeah i hope you guys make it in, crossing my fingers for us

I hope you can get that misdemeanor off your record! They are pretty strict about having anything on there.and if u do get in once you start applying for nclex you will hVe to declare it. I had a speeding ticket just a simple speeding ticket and the board of vocational nursing treated me like a criminal. So hopefully the judge will go easy on you... Good luck!!!

WHOO JUST GOT THE CALL!! : ) now all i need to do is expunge this misdemeanor and if all goes well i'll be a nurse in 2 years or less haha, i hope you guys get in too, let us know!

Omg Congrats to those accepted I wasn't able to make this July deadline I'm looking forward to the teas on Monday I'm nervous any tips was it hard? So far my studying feels easy plz help

I have a question with the Background and Drugscreen.

Rep. insisted that I do it today online but I can't do it while at work. So I did the online background check application an hour ago (11pm) but how about the drugscreen (urine sample), do I have to do it tomorrow (July 15) to still be in the early application?

Science part is either you know it or not. Its kinda impossible to study for all of the Science topics.

The rest are easy.
