Just want to be a nurse again

Published

Hi,

My name is karen and i live in WA state. I graduated with my asn in 1990 and worked in the maternal child area since then that is until 2 years ago. I injured my back working in labor and delivery and haven't been able to find a job since. Not only do i have the injury but 10 years ago I was on probation with my nursing license for one year. The board of nursing made me fill out supervisor reports for 3months at a time and completed them after one year. Now this is part of any inquirery into my license. I have had a clear and unrestricted license for 8 years. I was also actively employed during all this time except for this last 2 years. I have always wanted to be a nurse since i was a child. I haven't been able to find employment in any area of nursing. I have had many interviews but noone has wanted me. I am at my end, and other than jumping off a bridge does any one have any ideas that my help me?

Good luck to you. You might post this question on the General Nurses board. This board is for introductions and doesn't get much traffic.

You probably live in a not very populated area. Consider moving if you want to get back into nursing. If you have a small job pool your chance of a job offer is smaller. Their really is a nursing shortage in the urban areas of the US. Also consider going back to school.
