Your patient is a 35 year old woman who just took the NCLEX exam. She presents with nausea and vomiting, high blood pressure and tachycardia. She states "I thought I prepared for that stinkin' test-and now I have to wait 7-10 days for any news!" An appropriate nursing diagnosis would be:
Select all that apply:
1.Risk for injury r/t the urge to fling herself off of a bridge.
2. Risk for dehydration r/t vomiting and diarrhea
3. Anxiety r/t BEING MADE TO WAIT 7 TO 10 DAYS!!!!!
4. Ineffective Coping as manifested by weeping, wringing of hands and the desire to go into hiding.
5. Disturbed energy field(still can't tell what exactly that is but it sounded appropriate)
The correct answer is 1,2,3,4, and 5. I had 75 questions and can't tell you how I did. My state is one of two that does not let you find out via Pearson Vue if you passed or not, so I will be a wreck for a while. I am glad it is over-just hope I don't have to do this again.

Awwww good luck! :icon_hug: If you stopped at 75, you most likely passed. Everyone here who's gotten 75 questions, (including me!) has passed so far :) Have faith. I'm sure you did just fine :)

Oh gosh your funny! I so wish you the best of luck! I take mine Aug. 22nd, & I will be a basket case just waiting on the results. I already have a job, & if I fail....the whole hospital will know, plus my school has a 100% pass rate for the last several years.....so no pressure! My tombstone will read....died of embarrassment :chair:

Hang in there! Most people do pass at 75. Most people pass when the exam cuts off at the other numbers too! Best of luck. Definitely let us know when you get your results.

Good luck - all I can seem to do while waiting is just go on this great web site & post things everywhere! IT's fun, wastes time & can be incredibly cathartic. Wishing you the very best xxx

LOL! I love your post!! Good luck with your results! Mine shut off at 75 questions too. I thought I had failed, but I passed. :) 7-10 days is way too long to wait. Will the results show up on your BON before then? I just don't understand why some states allow quick results and others don't, esp a state like California. They're usually the 1st to do a lot of things, and Florida is usually the last! lol!

I live in RI and our fee to process our license is one of the highest, I have heard.($93.75)
You should try NY: $135 :stone
In MA it's 200......
Hello RNsRwe by the way. :)
Ok-I stand corrected and I'll stop complaining about the fee now. I also feel a teeny bit guilty about crying over the 7-10 day wait when I hear nurses at work that had to wait 3 months back in the day. But then the anxiety comes back and I'm back to whining again.
I definitely hear you on that. I didn't cry for my results though..(actually I had maybe one crying spell the day after my exam ) but yeah...i definitely would have gone insane if i had to wait 2-3 months to know if i passed! Hang in there though. I'm sure you passed! :)

I'll focus on option 2 first: risk for dehydration r/t vomiting and diarrhea first - especially wiht all this excruciating heat around - I don't want my client to go into shock before she finds out that she actually came out with flying colours and now she is a RN!
Hee funnie CRB "Died of embarrasment." That was a good one.
