I could really use some words of encouragement right now. I did a reasonable amount of studying and did well on Kaplan's Qtrainers. Well... I took NCLEX this morning & my questions were a mix of semi-easy and pretty hard questions. I know people says it's a good sign if you get mostly hard questions but I definitely had some easy ones. And I'm not quite sure what constitutes a hard question but I'm not feeling so confident. The computer shut off at 75 questions. After the test, I made the mistake of looking up about 8 or so questions just to find I got them all wrong. I also got some repeat questions that I know I got wrong. Is it a bad sign if you get a Hot Spot question?
I know everyone feels like they failed after NCLEX but did anyone get shut off early and look up questions and find they got them wrong and then pass? I am so scared right now. Sorry this post keeps going on and on, I feel like a robot right now. I'm physically/mentally/emotionally drained. Thanks in advance for any words of encouragement.

I'm sure everything I'll say to you right now will fly out the window next week when I take my exam but... Just try and forget about it until the results come. Looking up answers really don't do anything for you and it doesn't mean you failed if you find you didn't answer correctly. Remember, your set up to miss 50%, so your forgetting the ones you got right! Just try the distractors listed above and it will all work out for the best, I'm sure!

I didn't look up my questions when I got home, because I was too miserable. It is true, most people walk out of there disoriented and completely blown away. Most of the questions do not even remotely imitate all of the practice questions we reviewed in preparation for the exam. You may have done better than you think. Depending on how long you have to wait for results, I can say that it may be better to leave it alone until you receive the results. I wish you luck!

Okay,
I did the forbidden and looked up answers when I got home! And got all of them wrong but 1 or 2. I looked up like 6 or 7. It tells you nothing. Just makes you feel worse. I passed with 86 questions.
Now i am a rn!

I, too, just took my NCLEX today with 88 questions. I don't know how to feel about it, other than I was surprised at how quickly the time passed. In response to your posting, don't take the 75 question thing to heart. 4 people in my class had the computer shut off on them after 75 questions, and they all passed. Keep your chin up, and hopefully you and I will get positive results come Saturday.

i took my exam tuesday and the comp shut offafter 75 questions...definitely thought i failed, and EVERY question i could even remotely remember i had gotten wrong. and i got the last question wrong. i passed. you'll be fine. i had some easy ones in there too, but you never know...i felt that the majority of my questions were difficult. but then when i got out i flipped out because all i could think was that hose were the easy questions and i just didn't know anything and got them all wrong. not the case. anyways, people who pass the exam only get a little bit over 50% correct, so, the ones that you can remember that you got wrong are absolutely not going to tell you anything. you usually only remember the questions that give you problems anyways....good luck. the waiting is the hardest and pretty soon you'll be able to RN next to your name!!!:balloons:

Try to focus on something else for this waiting period...probably next to impossible....you studied, practiced and were well prepared, I bet that you passed. Remember no one feels good about this test....also remember that the odds are HIGHLY in your favor....Hang in there and please post when you hear the good news!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. And good luck to those getting ready to test. It's so nice to hear from people that are going through the same thing. Only nurses can understand what nurses go through!

I feel just the same as you did...I took it today and I feel awful right now. I have got 90 something q's and someof them really CRAZY and some really EAZY...I don't know what to think. But the lest questions were easy...I am really afraid...I don't want to come back to study anymore.
ARE THERE ANYBODY KNOWS IS IT BAD TO GET LAST QUESTIONS EASY....IS THIS MEANS THAT I AM FAILED....?

I just wanted to say that it really helps to read these posts and know that there are people out there who are going through the same thing I am!!! I just took my test today too.... and I sure did leave that place feeling disoriented and blown away! I had around 135 Qs... I felt like a robot after awhile just answering question after question... And I REALLY have no clue how I did... I think it's pretty common to lean towards feeling like you failed miserably. I think that is a way for us to prepare ourselves for the worst, but in all honesty, even if you dont pass the first time it's not the end of the world!
So to all of you guys who are in my boat... I'm here for all of you and will keep you all in my prayers! And for everyone who is going to test, GOOD LUCK my prayers are with you also!!!!!!!
Keep us posted as you guys find out the good news!!!!!!
And look at it this way... We all made it through nursing school, there is no way that one crazy test can tell the world what kind of nurse we are truly going to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is the same as for everyone; there is no way to gauge how the exam actually went may it be last question easy or hard, # of questions before the computer shut down or anything else for that matter. And it is the interpetation of what we consider to be easy, also. I know some test takers found the entire exam to be easy TO THEM, and they did pass. Maybe they are used to answering high level questions or are better than average test takers, but they thought it was a breeze. But, when they shared the questions with me, I didn't know what I would have chosen as a response.
I remembered most of the questions but when it started trailing towards the end, I do not remember them to this day...and I am glad. I walked away thinking that I failed and I didn't. I remember doing wild things to choose some answers; looking at the responses and saying to myself "Because YOU look too stupid and I would NEVER do THIS in real life, this MUST be what those quacks want to hear". I passed with minimum questions the first time, but to this day, each time I think about the NCLEX path and the exam, I get pissed.
You may have done better than you think...this is what happens to most people. Most of us walk out of there in sheer shock, but have made it. I wish you luck.
