Hi there! I took my nclex-pn on May 7 and I just found out that I passed!!!! I didn't try the PVT. I was too nervous, so I decided to wait for the result to come in the mail. It took about 3 weeks.
I studied for about a month but i also take days off to relax my mind. I used the exam cram and saunder. I break down on what to study for: 1. Safety and infection control,
2. Precaution, 3. Delegations, and 4. Meg surg. I did not study for pharmacology because there's no way i can remember all the medications and its s/e.
The day before the test, I studied for about 2 hours and spend the rest of the day relaxing my mind. On the day of the test I tried to stay calm and drank a glass of orange juice. Walked inside the testing room and did some practice questions. After that the real test is up!! I read the questions carefully and picked the answer that seems most correct. I didn't spend too much time on the questions bc i know i will over think it. Trust your first answer! I went through the test really quick. When i reached questions 85 the computer shut down on me. I was so scared! i wanted more questions!! I only spend 40 mins on the test and that was including doing the practice questions. I was the first one to finish in that room and i didn't like that! I have 2 pharmacology questions and a few drag in (orders). I did not have any calculations or exhibits.
So my advice is study what you can bc whatever i studied for was really on the test. Do a lot of SATA practice questions bc i got a tons of those on the test. DO NOT OVER THINK THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS! Trust you first answer!:)

Congrats Cathy, I am very proud of you. You broke down the study to a T. I think also that is the best way and you did it.
