I'm almost done my first semester of nursing school and sometimes I can't stop thinking about my third semester, when I'll get to do an obstetrics rotation. I know I want to be either a labor and delivery nurse or a NICU nurse. I know it's not for a while, but sometimes I feel like I'm just trudging through everything else. My third semester can't come soon enough!
What's it like being a labor and delivery or NICU nurse?

Hi there!
I just completed my pediatric clinical and I am now doing OB. I absolutely LOVED peds! I loved everything about it. Each day I made a connection with the children and their parents and I could see myself being a peds nurse one day. Just like you, I knew what I wanted to do from the very beginning. I had people tell me to wait until I got to the clinical, I might love or hate it! As you go through nursing school, your interests might change and you may even find a part of nursing that you never even thought you would like. If you end up loving peds and OB don't forget to really SHINE during your clinical rotation and don't forget to ask your instructor for a letter of recommendation. I have found that instructors can be a great source for networking! So make friends with them :)
