This is my last message for a while but I was researching pay for nurses because I wonder if a RN in emergency, ICU and CCU made more then a regular RN nurses and this is our pay for Georiga. A Practitioner should make more than a head nurse its weird how they paid ya'll.
Staff nurses in ER-63,000-80,000
staff nurses-44,000/52,000-59,000
Head nurses-59,000-79,000
nurse practitioner- 64,000-75,000
nurse practitioner ER- 66,000-77,000
DOL said nurses pay is meduim-48,000 50%- 40,000-57,000 Low 10%33,000 high 10%-69,000

So sad but true!! I am "considered management level" at our facility -- however, salary does not nearly compare. 2 of our managers are currently working on their MSN -- I have mine. They are responsible for their units -- I have to deal with staff through out the house. I do not have to do financial stuff, YET-- but am hoping the muckymucks will see the value of staff development and get more than one person involved. I develop, revise and distribute guides to all nursing hires, each unit and assit with the orientations and competencies as well..... my list may be different then theirs, but just as long -- they are making 10 thousand more a yr -- at least ( 20 for a couple of them)................................ just frustrating sometimes. I DO love what I do, love working wth our staff etc. -- am planning to stay inspite of the inconsistancy, guess I just felt the need to vent a little bit. I'll shut up now!
