Joliet Junior College - Acceptance Letters

Hello! So unfortunately I did not make the first round cut for the Joliet Junior College Fall 2014 nursing program. However after speaking to an instructor she told me to hang in there because there are always those that do not accept the spot they qualified for. My understanding is there is a deadline to accept that spot. Does anyone know how long they give you? I just keep hoping and praying my phone will ring saying an opening is available.

Were you told you were on the waitlist?

Meet or at least have a phone interview with an academic advisor there and learn about their schedule and when waitlisted people are contactacted. Also have your file evaluated to see how close you are to eligible. Some people are right on the verge of getting in and others haven't even met the basic requirements. You need to know exactly where you stand so you can plan.

Sorry I didn't see your response until just now for some reason I was not notified I had a response :) I did contact the nursing department and was told "based on past history, you may be contacted for an open position but nothing is guaranteed of course". Anyone I have spoke to said they won't let you know where you are on the list. I feel like everything is in limbo and I can't make plans until I know for sure. Again thank you for posting. I am still hoping n praying I get in. :)
