Hello all,
I am fairly new at my first RN job, (about 8 mths). I noticed about two weeks after pulling up some medicine from a glass bottle with a syringe and using my the thumb on my right hand to do so, (i've done it this way since the beginning) my thumb felt a little sore the next day. After about a week or so, my joint is now visibly larger than the left hand and is hurting more. Today I was charting and it started to hurt. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be and what i should do about it? I am a new employee and a new grad, do i need to tell someone at work. I've already found out about a hand doctor i'm thinking seeing next week. Any suggestions are welcomed and very much appreciated.
Happy thanksgiving

Please be advised that medical advice cannot be exchanged on these forums per the terms of service. My suggestion is to see your primary care physician and/or consult with the hand doctor that you have found.
Good luck to you, and I sincerely hope that your thumb starts feeling better very soon.
