Hello everyone,
i'm new to this forum and i have a few questions regarding the process the joining the AMEDD as an reserve officer. I met with a recruiter briefly on Friday (he'll be out of the office for all next week) and till i see him next i was hoping that someone here can shade some light. I'm planning to join AMEDD as a 70B, Health care admin, (the only position in AMEDD which does not require a medical expertise) i'm 29, have an MBA and otherwise qualified. The only issue is that i will need a moral waiver for an arrest (no conviction and arrest expunged) of shoplifting 10 years ago. How does it work, someone applies for a waiver upfront, and then after it's approved you submit the application package, OR it is included with the application package all together and hope for the best?
If someone went through this experience or knows how it is done please share the process or the odds of being selected. I was told that for my particular job, the competition is strong, 10 candidates for 1 slot, so i'm kinda having second slots of even going through the process and waisting my and recruiters time.
Anyway, we'll talk later, thanks.

The waiver has to be approved before your package is sent to the board. Can not answer about how competive it is, but if this is something you want go for it. If you do not later in life you might say I wish I would have.
Does anyone knows how long it takes, or it should take for a waiver to go through? The reason i'm
saying is that board only meets once a year, and if the waiver does not come back in time, i'm pretty much
out of luck and have to wait for the following year. Am i correct on this?
Thanks.
Once it is submitted should take less then 2 weeks if they have no futher questions about it. You need to start getting your police records for where you live or have lived right away. Get with your recruiter on this since they have the proper forms.
SO, if the waiver is approved (assuming it is of course), will the board be influenced in their decision that i had a waiver in process, or i get a clean "slate" since the waiver was approved?
Regards to all.
I can not speak for the board, but yes it should be a clean slate
