Johns Hopkins Masters Entry 2017 (MSN)

Published

Hi All,

Figured I'd start a thread for applicants to the Johns Hopkins Masters Entry into Nursing Practice for entry in spring 2017 with July 1 deadline. Good luck all.

Thanks @breadnroses!

Anyone else waiting to see if they got in? I think it's weird that everyone did not get a decision on the same day.

@DetroitAng, hello! True, it's hard to wait for their decision. As they posted on their website and application page, they might start sending emails or make phone calls starting from early March(hopefully March 1st). It seems like JHU did not want to lose students with very strong backgrounds including schools, experiences, GPA, GRE scores, and powerful essays, and this made them early notice for those who got offers last week. I personally think, it would be wonderful if we can (if or when we accepted) study with those academically strong students.

I believe you will hear a good news soon, and let's share information or notice if JHU starts sending :-)

I was also unsure and believed that I might have failed as other people already got accepted, however, I changed my mind to wait until March comes.

I hope this helps. Thanks!

Hi! I just find it weird because when I received my acceptance for Columbia's nursing program everyone got a decision on the same day. I'm almost positive that I am going to Columbia, unless Johns Hopkins offers me an amazing financial aid package. I will definitely let you know when I hear something!

I am also waiting to hear. I wonder if not hearing is a bad sign? Maybe they notify alphabetically, I really don't know. But I hope we hear soon!!

Hello everyone,

I am still waiting for a decision letter as well. I believe I had a strong application, letters of rec, essay, and a strong GPA. Unfortunately, my GRE fell below the minimum average and I was not able to afford to take another test. I feel like those tests does not determine how I would be as student or a nurse. Hopefully, they take a holistic approach when evaluating applications. I hope I could work alongside you all at Johns Hopkins.

Waiting to hear back as well! I am also leaning more toward Columbia right now, but definitely don't want to commit without hearing what JHU has to offer.

I know! Same here! I might contact admissions today to see when they are sending out the rest of the decisions. I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

Thank you @DetroitAng! I believe as you got in Columbia, you would not have any problems to get in JHU. I hope all of us can hear from them soon.

Thank you! That's what I'm thinking, too. I went to their information session in the fall and was pretty confident that I would be accepted there, as well, based on my conversation with one of the admissions staff. I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and that seemed to give me an advantage. There's a possibility that I could receive a pretty substantial scholarship based on the fact that I served in Peace Corps, so that's why I'm waiting to hear from JHU before I officially accept my spot at Columbia.

I just emailed them to see when the rest of the decisions will be sent out. I'll let you all know when I hear back :)

I just received an email saying to complete a training course online for Patient Privacy and for Electronic Information Security and Data Management Training. But I yet to receive an email that said if I was admitted or not. This makes me very anxious. Did any of you receive this email? Or those that were already accepted did you receive this? I hope this is good news.

I have that email too! (I've been admitted)

Maybe wait till the end of this week?
