Johns Hopkins Masters Entry 2017 (MSN)

Published

Hi All,

Figured I'd start a thread for applicants to the Johns Hopkins Masters Entry into Nursing Practice for entry in spring 2017 with July 1 deadline. Good luck all.

Hey Everyone!

Good luck to those on the wait list waiting to hear back.:nurse:

Did anyone apply after the Fall 2017 direct-entry msn application deadline? It's been open for quite some time! I applied in April because Hopkins is my top choice and I figured it was worth a shot. Still waiting to hear back ... they said it should be very soon. Anyone else in the same boat and still awaiting a decision for Fall 2017? Keep me posted!

Best of Luck

Anyone from the wait list hear back yet?

Thanks for the offer on some insight from a current student. It's much appreciated! I was accepted into the Fall '17 class, and I'm beyond excited... and a little anxious. Is there anything you wish you'd known before you started?

Hey @lsas0704 were you accepted recently?! I'm asking because I'm still waiting to hear back :). Congrats!!!

Hey @nurse4pedsonc. Thanks! I was accepted back in March. You haven't heard anything at all? That's weird... Hope you hear back soon!

Just heard back. I was pulled off the wait list since the fall 2017 cohort is now full.

Don't be anxious ! They really make the transition into the accelerated program bearable ! It is a lot of work but doable. It is not as impossible as it may seem. The only thing I wish I had known was that living in Baltimore city is rough. If you can, live in an area like Canton or Towson if you have a car. They are not super close to school but you will appreciate not being in the inner city as time goes on ! And getting away from the hospital/school/classmates is much needed sometimes to decompress!

That's great to know, since I live about a half hour outside of the city and don't plan on moving to B'more. :)

Thats perfect ! Since you're a local you are all set ! Also if you want you can choose a clinical site that is closer to you if they have the offering which makes it perfect for those closer to areas like Bel Air, Annapolis, ect. You will love the program !

sincerelyangie.blog has some insight from a current student at the same program but Vanderbilt. I found it pretty helpful!! She does "a week in the life" which walks you through what a typical week is like.

Hello everyone!

Congratulations to everyone who just got accepted at JHU. I am planning on applying for the summer start 2018 at JHU, but I am leaving the country in September and want to get as much of the application completed before I go. I know that JHU alters the questions on their applications, but what were the personal statement/ essay questions for spring start? I want to get started on something now so I can have a head start once the applications open. Also, does anyone know their average GRE scores?
