Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing MSN program for August 2021 applicants. I started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the November 1st deadline . Anyone else??

Does this include Jan 1st deadline applicants? I thought Id have to wait until Late Feb/March for a response ?
I think decision are been sent sporadically throughout this week. I am sure by the end of this week everyone would know where they stand. So each day a different group finds out. It like a wicked game. I feel like am a beauty pageant trying to find out if I made it to the next round. LOL

? phew!! hahaha I was worried for a sec
Good luck to those waiting a response and Congrats to those who have heard back so far and got in!!
For those rejected or waitlisted: you got this! if this isn't your path today, theres a reason!

I received my acceptance !! I am just not sure if I will commit to either Johns Hopkins or Columbia.
Congratulations!! What a difficult decision you have to make hahaha
If I may ask, in your opinion: whats appealing about either school? Whats stopping you from choosing one over the other? What are your goals and how do you think either school will help you get here? Is money/financial aid a big factor? Is location/moving going to be something to consider? What would your support system be like in either case?
Both are amazing schools with incredible reputations so I personally don't think you could go wrong with either one. But Im sure we live very different lives that have brought us to this point in ours lives for different reasons, so it would be difficult for any of us to provide insight (not that you asked but we are on a forum LOL).

Hahaha I literally asked them during the chat “will there be more decisions released today?” And they responded “yes- decisions will be released all week” SO IDK kinda cryptic ? yesterday a “batch” of decisions was released around 7:30 pm so I’m waiting til then, and if nothing, see yall tomorrow hahaha

Hi everyone. This is for everyone still waiting to hear back, those that have been denied, those that have been waitlisted, and those that may not be able to attend due to other circumstances. Remember WHY you applied to JHU. I have a gut feeling it’s because you want a quality education AND you want to be the best nurse you can be for your patients and future colleagues. The fact is, our nation needs great nurses and healthcare leaders, now and forever. Every future nurse cannot go to JHU. All the nurses you will work with will not be JHU graduates (most likely). I really want to encourage everyone who may feel anxiety, sadness, disappointment etc. to work on your next steps. Make your plan B. Get excited about it!! Go to the state school, maybe you’ll graduate debt free and go to JHU for a Masters paid for by your employer. Apply to other schools, reapply if you wish, get more experience. Don’t dwell if the decision is not the one you want or the aid just was not enough to make the education feasible. These past few months, I’ve found family and inspiration in my amazing nurse coworkers. There are two mentors I look up to for guidance and direction on tough (and good) days. One of them is a JHU graduate and the other is a community college graduate. These nurses are badass. You want to them to be your patients’ nurses in chaotic shifts. They are AMAZING. Just because you don’t go to JHU doesn’t mean you aren’t going to be an amazing nurse. Please don’t give up!! You are needed!
