Hi all,
like my title says, I am a newly licensed RN in Pennsylvania. Just passed my NCLEX this march!
I have a BSN, and 5 years of experience working in Singapore.
I started my nursing career in a Surgical ICU, 3 years of great experience. While I was on perm night duty, I was given the opportunity to be Charge nurse.
After the 3 years in the SICU, I spent about 1 year working with an agency. I was working as a floater ICU, ER nurse and also dabbled in some research nursing work for a pharmaceutical company for about a year.
For the past year I have been doing private home nursing jobs.
As I am soon moving to the US, I am looking at job opportunities.
I am really keen to go back to working in an ICU! I miss working in the ICU so much.
However, I was wondering, if any hospitals in the US will take into consideration the experience I have had, and consider me for a job in the ICU?
Additionally, how is the market like for nurses these days?
I will be looking to tell my BLS and ACLS once I am residing in the US. Your help will really be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I know PinnacleHealth Systems is hiring RN's in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. Though I don't know if there are any openings in the ICU.

I would recommend taking the CCRN certification exam so you can prove equivalence since your ICU nursing is from out of country. I know my hospital is always hiring SICU nurses, including new grads so I am sure they would consider someone with ICU experience. I would probably try to get a job in any capacity in a hospital in the US so you get used to the electronic medical record etc.
